Shannon, No, 35 ohms is not high for this drain pump. The WPW10348269 / W10348269 Pump, Drain motor winding is 15O - 60O and operates on 120V, 60 Hz, and draws 60Watts of power when operating. You didn' mention if the drain motor does or doesn't run? You may want to disconnect the wires from the drain pump(two brown wires) and check for 120 VAV across the two wires, with the dishwasher in a drain cycle, you may have a wiring issue or perhaps a failed drain pump relay on the main control board.

Dishwasher is blowing thermal fuses. Changed fuse and started drain cycle to empty water. The dishwasher ran for about 30 seconds and blew another fuse. Since the fuse blew while draining I pulled the drain pump to diagnose. Resistance is about 24 ohms, but service tech guide says it should be 15-19 ohms. Is this a faulty pump that could be causing the fuse to blow or is the fuse blowing for a different reason? Is 24 ohms to high for this pump?

Lyndon, You will want to make sure that when you replace the fuse that you replace the wires as well. This would most likely be caused by a loose connection that is causing the connection to overheat and cause the fuse to blow. The resistance is a little high on the pump and could be a cause but that resistance should not cause the fuse to blow.

Dishwasher is very slow to drain and when cycle is complete there still water in the washer. I cleaned the filter, was not dirty as I clean it regularly. I detached the hoses and no obstruction was found, blew air through the hose and pump. The impeller in the pump spins easily for the most part (with my fingers though the hose access) almost all the way around but then I find there is resistance at some point. When I pass the resistance it spins fast almost like the impeller gets "loaded" and then releases and spins . My question is: is this normal? Would a brand new pump spin freely all the way around with no resistance at any point? Is my pump bad and need to be replaced? Thanks in advance for your help.

Andre, That would be normal for the impeller to kind of spring but it does sound likely that the pump is the issue with all other things that were checked.

Dishwasher runs but at the end the basin is filled with cloudy water, I don’t see a blockage in the hose. When I hit the cancel/drain it used to make a load draining noise now I just hear a quiet humming noise. I emptied the hose and ran it again and water goes into the hose but doesn’t fully drain. I disconnected the hose underneath and all the water drained out. Do I replace the the drain pump? Or is there a hose blockage I’m not seeing ?

Kelly, Look down into the pump and see if there is any type of blockage but sounds likely that the drain pump is bad and will need replaced.

Dan, If the unit is draining but not draining all the way then check for an issue with the drain hoses being restricted. There will be some water that is left in the tub to keep the seals moist but will be a very small amount and it may just need to be run through a clean cycle if the only complaint is odor. Try some washer cleaner or a hot bleach wash with nothing in the unit to see if this helps.

Donavon, With the "resistance with the impeller" and the slightly higher resistance on the motor windings, you may want to consider a new drain pump. With the age and operation of the machine, we would expect a slightly higher resistance, but the motor should still run as long as there is a resistance reading. If the pump isn't "jammed" with debris and sediment, then the resistance is most likely due to the "wear and tear" on the motor bearings and shaft.

James, The best way to test the drain pump is to turn the unit on and make sure that there is 120 vac to the drain pump. if there is power to the drain pump then the drain pump is bad. If there is not power then this will be a faulty main control board.

Hello James, a better way to test the motor would be to use a test cord to apply 120Vac to the motor terminals to make sure it runs but you will still need to pull the pump WPW10348269 and make sure nothing is in the impeller and that the impeller is not broken or separated from the motor shaft.
