For Whirlpool Dishwasher Pump And Motor Assembly (Part Number: OEM18072192)

Sun for Model Number KUDI01FLWH0

Hi, my dishwasher begins the filling process, stops after a min or so, the washing process starts and stops within 2-3 seconds, water starts filling again and eventually another minute later the wash cycle starts. At this stage the water level is about 1/2 inch lower than heater level. Is that the right level? Even if I manually add more hot water, the motor just seems to make noise but no swoosh (both spray arms seem to be spinning because they are in a different position when I open door). I have cleaned the entire assembly, including chopper assembly which had lots of debris on it. It helped a bit but a month later, same problem. First, do I need a new inlet water valve (seems to be ok, water pressure into the dishwasher is great), the float is obviously working because it doesn't overfill. It drains fine. What part do I need if I just bought the impeller and which do I need if I replace the whole assembly (think there are two sizes of thermistors?)? Thanks.

Hello Sun. You will need to check the impeller and see if it is worn or broke. If so, it will need to be replaced. It sounds like the water level is ok. Hope this helps.

Ryan, Yes it could be a bad motor winding, but I would remove the motor and check the impeller and volute, first. But then those components are included with the pump/motor assembly, so it's up to you . Good Luck

Hello Etwhirl. You will need to check and see if the spray arms are clogged. Also, check and make sure there is enough water coming into the machine. If the water level is low, the spray will be restricted. Hope this helps.
