Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice Maker (Part Number: OEM18057264)

Daryl, The icemaker would have had a fuse in the wire harness that would come with it. Test to see if you are getting 120 vac to the icemkaer. If there is not power to the icemaker then it would likely be an issue with the control board.

David for Model Number WRS321SDHV01

I just bought a new icemaker (part number WPW10300022) for my Whirpool refrigerator (model number provided). It does nothing......just like the old one. I've tried the manual cycling trick using a wire to connect T and H ports. Nothing. Just like the old one. Now I am wondering if the problem might be the fridge not supplying electricity to the icemaker through the wiring harness. How can I verify if electricity is getting to the icemaker? There are four wires/connections in the wiring harness clip. Is there a way to find out what sort of voltage readings I should be seeing from specific wires? I don't want to risk frying something by reading across the wrong wires. Thanks for your help.

David, Based on the information provided the voltage to the ice maker can be checked with a multimeter at terminals L to N for 120vac

Ronald, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty water valve with the icemaker overfilling.

Grant, Is the freezer maintaining temperature (0 to 5 dgrs. Fair temp.) ? Are articles in the freezer properly frozen ? If so look at a few of the ice cubes, if they appear small or appear layered It would be a water flow problem, loss of pressure or possibly a dirty filter. If not then it's most likely a defective sensor in the ice maker control head and you'd want to replace the ice maker.

Hello Bobby. It sounds like the supply line may be hooked up wrong on the unit. Check the supply line coming to the valve.

Matt, You will want to check the freezer temp. The temperature should be around 0 degrees and if it is not then the issue will most likely be a defrost issue. Check the coils in the freezer compartment for impacted ice on the coils. If this is occurring then there is a defrost issue. Test the heater and defrost bimetal. If these check ok then the issue will be a faulty control board.

Me not You, If you remove the cover on the icemaker this is where the adjustment screw would be located. There should only be 1 screw on the right side. You would turn no more than a 1/4 of a turn counter clockwise for more water to come into the icemaker.
