The Ice Maker is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. Designed to efficiently produce ice, this ice maker ensures your refrigerator dispenses fresh and clear ice cubes whenever you need them. It integrates seamlessly into compatible models, maintaining the integrity and performance of your appliance.

Signs that it's time to replace your ice maker include a noticeable decrease in ice production, ice cubes that are smaller or misshaped, and unusual noises during the ice-making process. These issues can arise from a variety of causes such as a malfunctioning water inlet valve, a clogged filter, or even temperature inconsistencies within the freezer compartment.

Symptoms of a bad Ice Maker include:

  • Inability to produce ice
  • Producing ice at a slower rate than usual
  • Ice cubes are not ejected from the mold
  • Water leaks in the freezer compartment

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Grant, Is the freezer maintaining temperature (0 to 5 dgrs. Fair temp.) ? Are articles in the freezer properly frozen ? If so look at a few of the ice cubes, if they appear small or appear layered It would be a water flow problem, loss of pressure or possibly a dirty filter. If not then it's most likely a defective sensor in the ice maker control head and you'd want to replace the ice maker.

Matt, You will want to check the freezer temp. The temperature should be around 0 degrees and if it is not then the issue will most likely be a defrost issue. Check the coils in the freezer compartment for impacted ice on the coils. If this is occurring then there is a defrost issue. Test the heater and defrost bimetal. If these check ok then the issue will be a faulty control board.

Me not You, If you remove the cover on the icemaker this is where the adjustment screw would be located. There should only be 1 screw on the right side. You would turn no more than a 1/4 of a turn counter clockwise for more water to come into the icemaker.
