Chuck May 01, 2015 for Model Number KBMC147HSS02 Hi... Second time around replacing a broken door torsion spring on this SS model. Last was several years ago. Memory has faded. The whirlpool parts diagram only lists p/n 4552398 and does not distinguish left and right. Do I need qty 2 of this part? I see many posts talking about a common left spring and an SS only stronger right spring. (i.e., 4452396). Do I need a different L/R for this model? Thanks.

1 Answer Marty, You will want to make sure that you received the correct torsion springs for your unit. With this being a stainless model the torsion spring will have to be for the stainless model. Dan December 16, 2014 for Model Number KEHC309JSS08 I just ordered the right hand spring.. I opened up the door and removed all the trims and etc. THe spring that feeds from Right to left broke on the left side. THe problem is that I have a wall on the right hand side of my unit. Does this mean, I have to loosen up the screws that attaches to my cabinet and pull the unit out slightly to feed the new torsion spring from right to left?
