Eric for Model Number RMC305

This question pertains to torsion spring replacement on the microwave door of a Whirlpool traditional oven/microwave unit The model # I listed is for a Whirlpool oven/microwave combo. I made a typo earlier (sorry) and this number appears both on the electric lower oven and also on the microwave instruction manual, so the model number must apply to both ovens. The only numbers I see on 2 stickers on the microwave itself are 8538 793 54002 and below that is XNO1619950. (There is no reference to a model or "mod" number.) This is on the left side at the bottom after opening the door. At a similar position on the right side of the door is a sticker that reads ""Microwave UL File No: E150072 SP" along with a compliance statement regarding radiation. The torsion springs need replacing for the microwave door. Is there a left and a right torsion spring, and is there one of the wonderful videos on this replacement that you all do? Thank you!

Eric, The torsion spring for this unit will be part number WP4451009 for the right side and WP4451008 for the left side. Unfortunately, we do not have videos showing how to replace the torsion spring. In general you would put the hook end in first then you will need to get the other side in and may have to torque the torsion spring to get it to go.

Marty, Based on the model provided the manufacturer shows the two springs to be the same left and right, but the stainless model uses a different set of springs than the other colors. The torsion springs for Bl/Wh/Bt Models are our part number WP4451008 and the mfg. part number 4451008. And the torsion springs for the stainless models are our part number WP4452398 and the mfg. part number 4452398.

Gary, unfortunately, the manufacturer does not list serviceable parts for the door assembly WB56X10872 of your model. As such is the case, the door assembly would be what is needed to repair a loose hinge.
