Lanoka August 07, 2020 for Model Number GHW9100LW1 I recently received the new springs (W10135004) for the washer tub and these are about an inch longer than the old springs. Will this difference in length effect the way the tub sits in the machine?
1 Answer This is the part number the manufacturer is recommending for your model number. There may have been a design change but the only way to verify that is if you contact Whirlpool. I would assume that yes it will affect how the tub sits but that there is a reason for it. Read More...
Alan February 18, 2019 for Model Number MHWE450WW01 My washer is very loud during the spin cycle. It's never been worked on. When I took the top off, I found the two heavy support springs and their plastic clips both in the rear spots instead of the front spots your repair video shows. Should I move them to the front slots? (with their clips)
1 Answer Alan, Once you determine the noise (most likely the tub bearings from the description given), and repair the machine, yes you would want to install the tub suspension springs and "clips" in the " front spots" or the openings closest to the front of the cabinet. Read More...
Randy November 12, 2018 for Model Number 110.4996203 In general do tub springs ever need to be replaced due to wear from time/use? Obviously yes if broken. I have an 2009 kenmore HE3T, with storage drawers on bottom, which shakes quite a lot in high-spin, especially if small load. I replaced all shocks, both tub bearings, belts and still vibrates too much for me. Thinking about springs, so asking if might help! Kind Regards,
Jt March 08, 2018 for Model Number 110.45087401 When I order this part - does it include both springs, or just one?
Skip D July 19, 2015 I have a whirlpool duet approx. 15 years old replaced bellows about 8months ago. Tore in about 5months later. Replaced again now tore again . It has started to vibrate more in the spin cycle over the last year. Check shocks not broken or leaking I guess just could be bad just wore out
1 Answer Hello Skip. You will need to check the bearings and see if they are bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Matthew V June 03, 2014 for Model Number 110.42922200 I have ordered these and it shows that they are the direct replacement for the originals. These new springs are 1 inch longer than the last ones and it would seem that if I installed them in the same spot as the other pair it would have the tub sitting on the shocks. Could you advise me of any difference in installation?
1 Answer Hello Matthew. According tot he manufacturer, these are correct and should work fine in the unit. We can not explain the size difference as they don not offer an explanation. Thanks. Read More...
Mr Fix-It April 28, 2013 for Model Number GHW9100LW1 Applance: Front Loader Duet Problem: Terrible Noise nocking and vibration from the basket assembly. Leaking water from the center rear bearing. With everything unpluged: I have removed the back and turned the drum by hand. With my hand on top of the outer plastic basket I can feel a vibration and hear a growling sound as I manually spin it. Reading your answers it sounds like a rear outer basket. I would replace shocks and springs at the same time; however, I am concerned the problem extends beyond the rear basket based on the vibration and sound. Advice?
1 Answer Mr Fix-it, The rear bearing would cause the noise issue and possibly the vibration. The other cause would be a broken weld on the spinner assembly. Read More...
Gary December 29, 2012 for Model Number GHW9400PWO What is causing knocking sound as seen and heard on Youtube?
1 Answer Hello Gary. Check for a broke shock on the unit. If none is found, check and see if the inner basket is loose and if so, you may need to replace the bearings in the unit. If the inner basket is good, check for wires or hoses knocking against the cabinet and making the noise. Read More...
Gary October 24, 2012 for Model Number GHW9200LW Duet Front load washer. Is this what you recommend to replace these 2 springs: Remove front panel and add supporting block under basket. Remove top panel to get to spring. Remove soap dispenser and then replace springs? Is the soap dispenser easy to remove & install? Also is there any thing else I would have to do for this job ? Thanks Gary
1 Answer Hello Gary, To remove the soap dispenser there are 2 screws when you take the soap cup out. Remove those screws and the hoses off the back of the dispenser assembly. I would block the unit to make it easier to get springs W10135004 out. Read More...
Tony June 12, 2012 for Model Number MHWE300VW13 I have a Maytag 300 series front loader. The suspension springs came off and I opened it up, put them back on but unfortunately I dont think I have the location of the springs correct. There seem to be multiple places to hang the spring from in order to keep the drum level and uptight to the front. Right now its easy to push the drum back and forth and cant find a diagram of the exact location I should place the springs at. Because of this clothes are getting sucked in the rubbery part when you open the door, there is a gap and should not be there. Please help, and thank you!
1 Answer Hello Tony. There are two spring brackets on the top of the inside of the cabinet. The springs hook into the spring brackets WP8181763 on the unit. Read More...
