Stephen D. July 21, 2014 I need to replace a plastic door striker on a Maytag quiet series 300 dishwasher and I do not know the model number. I checked everywhere the site said to, but no luck. I believe I found the part I need, but I have a question. Do I need to slide the dishwasher out to replace the striker and is it replaced with a screw? Some of the strikers I saw can be replaced from the front. Thanks
1 Answer Stephen, Yes you will need to partially remove the dishwasher to access the door strike. It is mounted to the tub frame with a screw (probably a "torx" screw,) the strike part number WP99002644 should be the strike for the model number information you supplied. You'll need to move the dishwasher out about 3 to 4 inches. Read More...
Terry July 10, 2012 for Model Number JDB2150AWP Does the door striker have anything to do with the off and on controls of the washer....water shoots out when doors is open and washer runs continually and will not shut off, tub seems to be overfilling also water seems too high in tub causing it to leak some when running...
1 Answer Hello Terry. If the strike was broke, the dishwasher would not run properly. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the latch is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...
