Symptoms of a bad surface burner receptacle include:

  • Burner element not heating or heating inconsistently

  • Visible signs of damage, such as burns or melted plastic around the receptacle

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

This could be caused by a voltage spike in the home wiring or a voltage spike to the element. It may be necessary to replace the element, wiring and the infinite switch at the same time as a bad infinite switch could also cause this type of issue.
