Joe, You would use your model number to look up a wiring diagram for your unit. Check for continuity with the switch on but no power for the contacts that should be closed with the switch on.

Mark E. for Model Number KECC502GWH05

I bought an infinite switch, AP3174889 (4456027), from you folks for my cooktop. First off, it looks nothing like the original. By using the wiring diagram, I've managed to get the LF burner working. However the power indicator light does not come on when this (new) switch is activated; it DOES come on for all the other burners. Here's the description of what wires are currently at what connection, for both the old switch, and the new one: BK - 2 (original), P1 (new) ---- R - N (original), P2 (new) ---- OR - N (original), 2 (new) ---- OR/WH - 3 (original), 4 (new) ---- OR/BK - 4 (original), 4a (new) ---- V - 5 (original), S2 (new). Once again, what is wrong? Do you have a cross-reference for connections on the old switch versus the new one? Any assistance would be very much appreciated.
