Benoit December 05, 2017 for Model Number jed8430bdb18 One of my smaller burners does not seem to be to be able to gradually control the temperature anymore. It's now performing on an on/off basis, meaning that it's either giving me the highest temperature (no matter the actual setting) or it's off. I would've thought that it would be a resistance problem, but I cannot seem to find that part on the website. Does that mean I need to change the "knob"? Thanks Benoit
1 Answer Benoit, The knob would not cause this issue but would most likely be a issue with the infinite switch. Read More...
Vickie January 21, 2016 for Model Number Jennair JED8430BDB My back left burner made a flash and explosion kind of noise. I guess it arced and kicked the breaker. It was a red flash in the burner. My fan works as well the other 3 burners. What do I need to fix it...I see that it can't be fixed without pulling it out of the countertop and vent...ugh. Is it an infinite switch or burner?? My husband turned the stove on high and took the dog for a walk....double boiler spitted water for a while!! Can 2 half way intelligent people do the repair??? Hubby isn't mechanical in anyway! Please help me!! I cannot afford a new one to replace it..it's only 10 years old. Thank you so very much!! :)
1 Answer Hello Vickie. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the element shorted out and will need to be replaced. The serial number of the unit will be needed to determine which one you need. You will need to remove the cooktop from the counter top to remove the top and replace the element. Make sure the power is turned off. You can call us at 1-877-477-7278 to order the correct element you need. Thank you. Read More...
Robert S. February 12, 2014 for Model Number Jenn Air JED 8430 The infinite switch for the right rear single heating element failed on my Jenn Air JED8430 black glass top. There are two single infinite switches listed. I don't have the part number. Which one should I order? I already removed the glass top and disconnected the power to the switch so I can use the other three elements. I forgot to get the part number, but can take it apart again if required. Thanks. Bob
