1 Answer Susan, The first thing to check would be to make sure that the door switches are good. Then check to see if there is 120 vac to the transformer. If there is 120 vac to the transformer then the issue will be on the high voltage side. You can test the magnetron for less then 1 ohm of resistance and test the diode. If the magnetron has more than 1 ohm resistance it is faulty and if the diode has no continuity or continuity in both when the leads are switch to the opposite end then it is faulty. Read More...
Wael July 02, 2022 for Model Number KMBS104ESS02 Microwave oven will not start. The issue is intermittent. Sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't. During the state in which it is not working, the "start" button does not beep when pressed while all other buttons do beep normally. Interior light comes on and off normally when door is opened and closed. I have not opened the oven to test the door switches yet. At first I was suspecting the door switches but now I am not sure since the "start" button does not make a beep. Any ideas? If there was a faulty door switch would this cause the start button to not beep?

Albass January 17, 2022 for Model Number GMC305PDB07 My oven/microwave combo is a 2003 model Whirlpool Gold Accubake system model GMC350PDB07 with the microwave being model# AVM791. The display reads “Door”. I pulled the microwave out from its casing and looked inside to determine what the door switches were. The switch is a V5P110CG3 - 16A 1/2HP, and looked badly burnt on one of the pins. I can’t find a replacement on the internet. Is the W10211972 a suitable replacement? Or do you what know is? Also, I couldn’t determine what the other two switches were, but must I replace them as well? Thanks!

Marv January 25, 2021 for Model Number KBHS109BSS00 I set time, power level and press start button. Display changes to show "Cooking", but light doesn't come on, carousel doesn't turn, magetron doesn't fire, and timer never starts counting down - basically, nothing happens at all (display doesn't change, either). Cancel button returns display back to normal default, though. Tried turning off at breaker (as that usually clears the numerous keyboard interface errors we have gotten since we bought the silly thing), but result is the same. Tried starting just by hitting the "Add 1 minute / Start" from the beginning, just to make sure it wasn't the membrane button itself that was faulty, but same thing - display shows "Cooking", but nothing going on. I have an electrical technology background, and have no fear of opening the unit up to troubleshoot/repair, but don't want to invest the time just to find out that the parts are no longer available (or that the board that needs replacing costs as much as a new unit). Brent January 11, 2021 for Model Number KEMC378KSS01 The display panel shows "Door" when the door is closed and the microwave will not turn on. I replaced both interlock switches and the monitor switch but it didn't solve the problem. I used a multimeter to check operation of each of the new switches and the old ones. They all appear to be working correctly. What else could be causing the problem? This problem occurred suddenly. One time it was working correctly and the next time we used it the Door message was displayed. I tried opening and closing the door multiple times, the message was always displayed after that point so it doesn't appear to be an intermittent switch. When I replaced the switches I was very careful to disconnect one lead at a time from the old switch before connecting it to the same terminal on the new switch, so I know they are installed correctly. This is for a Kitchenaid Superba wall oven/microwave combo.

With the door open, the dog eared terminal and the farthest terminal should have continuity.
