Heath February 24, 2021 for Model Number Amana AMV2307PFS0 Microwave is not shutting and will not turn on because of it. I assume its a door switch. but I don't know what parts to get. Help would be greatly appreciated
1 Answer Heath, this can be caused by one of the interlock cams closing up. With the power supply cord unplugged, it would be recommended that the upper and lower interlocks are checked to see if they are in the closed position. If one of them is locked, it can be moved to the open position from behind the control panel and it would be recommended that the door switches are tested for continuity to identify if any have failed. The top right and bottom-left switch should have continuity with the door open. The top left and bottom-right switches should not have continuity when the door is open. If a switch fails, it would be recommended that the corresponding interlock is changed if it is the upper use the part number W11182140 and for the lower use the part number W11182141. Read More...

Chris K February 04, 2020 for Model Number WMH1163XVD-1 My microwave completely lost power a week ago. I ultimately determined it was the interior ceramic fuse. I replaced the fuse and the unit powered on. However, when I attempt to use the microwave to cook, the display reads "Open and Close Door". Ive tried to open and close the door to no avail. Do I need to replace the door "interlock"? Do I do the top and the bottom or just the bottom. Is this what caused the fuse to blow?
Russ January 24, 2020 for Model Number Wmh53520CS-2 Bottom interlock switch always open or always closed? Purchased new upper interlock from you didn’t seem to fix problem of close door notification.
1 Answer Hello Russ, the bottom door switch is a normally closed switch and the part number is W10269458. Thanks! Read More...
Jason October 13, 2019 for Model Number MMV5208WB1 the micro wave door got opened while running and lost all power i pulled the front cover and cod the fuse it is ok power is going into unit but nothing comes on what parts might be the problem
1 Answer Jason, If nothing works like the vent fan and cooktop light or inside light it is probably the cavity thermostat has failed. I would suggest checking the door switches also and last would be the control board replacement. Door switches and thermostat can be a continuity test. Read More...
Craig Jay March 05, 2019 for Model Number WMH32517AS Microwave just suddenly stopped heating. Lights come on, fan runs, and turntable turns but no heat. I understood the top switch(es) controlled light, fan, turntable and the bottom the hear so I replace the bottom switch. Still does not work. Thanks!
1 Answer Craig, You will want to test all the door switches to make sure that they are good. If they do not test good then they would need to be replaced. If this checks ok then test the thermostats on the unit to make sure that they are good. Read More...
Rebekah Wolf August 06, 2018 for Model Number WHM32519FB0 I purchased all 3 replacement switches and plastic mounting brackets as I heard they tend to break when replacing the switches…is it going to be apparent which switch goes where? Issue with this microwave is the interior light doesn't always come on, opened the door while the microwave was running and it didn't stop, door is closed yet the microwave still thinks the door is open…all intermittently. Called a repair service to fix and they didn't know how to fix it (!). I am not an electrician, however, the reviews on this site led me to believe this one is pretty straightforward….is it? Thank you, Rebekah
1 Answer Rebekah, two of the switches you purchased are what is called -normally open and one is normally closed, they are very specific in their position in the switch housing and the wires that are attached to them. If you look at each switch, it will say NO or NC, when you take the old switch off the bracket, take pictures of the wire position and what switch is NO or NC and to where it fits in the bracket. Daniel D April 25, 2018 for Model Number WMH32L19AS1 The light may or my not illuminate when opening the door. Then as the microwave was operating, I opened the door....the turntable stopped but the machine was still running. I notice there are two door switches, so my question is which switch would need to be replaced? Upper, Lower, or both?
1 Answer Daniel, You will want to check the door switches on the unit for continuity. The door switch will most likely be the issue but will want to test to see which one is faulty. Read More...
Curtis April 18, 2018 for Model Number YWMH31017AS-5 The issue I am having is sometimes when the door closes the panel will not light up, which prevents me from starting the microwave. All it takes is for me to open the door again and close it to make it work. I'm assuming this is the door switch, my question is what is the part number of the switch I will need? This has only happened maybe 3 times since i've had it (1.5 years). Thanks,
1 Answer Curtis, This issue will most likely be caused by a faulty door switch but you will need to test to see which switch is faulty. Read More...
