Tony M October 30, 2020 for Model Number MVWC565FW1 NO CHANGE IN WATER LEVEL (LOW)NO MATER HOW MUCH CLOTHES ARE INSERTED WHAT PART SHOULD I PURCHASE FIRST ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS ARE GOOD
1 Answer Hello Tony, to answer your question the water level sensing is done directly by the main control board. Before you replace any parts, you should run a Recalibration cycle as per the Technical Datasheet that came with your washer, it is located behind the front cabinet panel up near the top. Next ,in checking the Owner's Guide on water levels :Set the Water Level knob to the Auto Sensing setting and the washer will fill to a level that ensures the load engages the agitator. From this point, the electronic control will sense the load and determine if additional water is needed.Set the Water Level knob to the Deep Water Wash setting and the washer will fill to the maximum water level.Deep Water Wash is not available in the Normal cycle mode. Selecting the Normal cycle with the Deep Water Wash setting will result in auto sensing of the water level. Read More...

Carlos November 30, 2018 for Model Number WTW5100VQ0 My washer doesn't stop filling BUT it also is only coming out cold no matter what temperature. Not too sure if the temperature thing has been going on for a while now but can the water level switch affect the temperature also? And vice versa? I'm stumped. Don't know if to change water level switch, the temperature switch or the valve. Thanks in advance.
2 Answers Hello Carlos, The water level switch does not affect the fill temperature at all. This sounds like you have two issues occurring at the same time. I would check the screens in the water valve and fill hoses first and if good, replace the water valve WP8578340. Check the machine again to see if this correct both issues since there is a temperature sensor on the water valve and this can affect both complaints. Read More...

2 Answers Carlos, For the issue of the unit only bringing in cold water then this will likely be a clogged water valve or would be a issue with the temp switch. For the overfilling issue if the water stops when you unplug the unit then this would likely be a issue with either the pressure switch being faulty or a issue with the pressure switch being faulty. Robert B November 07, 2018 for Model Number ETW4300TQ0 My estate washer will not water fill up. I replaced the water inlet valve, plugged in elec. no water, checked water lines etc. Could it be the pressure switch? The washer would work in spin mode, when I turned it on. I hear a humming noise when I go to fill up. thank you Robert
1 Answer Robert, You will want to test to see if there is 120 vac going to the valve. If there is not then this would more likely be the temp switch that is faulty. The temp switch part number is WPW10112532. Read More...
Janell E October 24, 2016 for Model Number ETW4400VQ1 How do you test the water level switch to see if it is good? I read how to test the water level hose on your question and answer section Also does the part listed include the hose and the switch? Thank you
1 Answer Janell, You will need to get the tech sheet and determine which terminals are for which water level. Once you have this information, using a multimeter you will check continuity between each of the terminal points. You will have to blow on the hose slightly and see if the terminal points for each level gain continuity when blowing into it, DO Not blow really hard, and if it loses continuity when not blowing into the hose. Ben September 17, 2016 for Model Number WTW5300SQO My washer fills up water but won't spin or agitate.
Miles B December 27, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool top washer Model WTW5300SQ0 Hello , My washer recently overflowed twice, then it wouldn't spin, unplugged it, took it apart to check the pressure switch and hose, both seemed in working order, blow in the hose and no leaks, pressure switch clicked off and on, now here is the mystery, Washer fills at all levels and then water stops, spin cycle now working, wash cycle runs and shuts off at proper level low med and high, close lid washer runs then starts to over fill when lid is closed, lift lid and i can see water draining down, close lid stars to over fill again while washing, I have checked the inlet valves and they are shutting off, the hose for water lever has no leaks i can find can it still be the water pressure valve even if its clicking when blowing in it.? Thanks you and Happy Holidays! Miles
1 Answer Miles, You will want to check the pressure dome where the hose connects to the side of the tub to ensure that it does not have something in it that would be clogging the port. If it does clear it out and should correct the issue. If it is clear then the pressure switch does sound like it is the issue. Read More...
Nikki April 26, 2015 for Model Number WTW5300SQ0 I recently took the machine apart to clean the drum and fix a belt that had somehow turned. After putting it all back together, the water level will only fill to about half the normal level for any size setting. Before I took it apart the water filled to the appropriate level. Should I replace part number 8578341 or is there a way for me to reset that part so that it shuts off at the correct level? Or could it be something else causing this issue? Thanks in advance!
1 Answer Nikki, You will want to make sure that the pressure hose is not kinked which could cause this issue to occur. Otherwise the issue would be a water level switch issue. Read More...
Jospeh December 08, 2014 for Model Number WTW5320SQ0 I can only select small and medium load size. When I try to turn to super capacity it just goes back to medium. What is my problem?
1 Answer Joseph, This issue would be caused by a faulty pressure switch that is not allowing the unit to set to the proper water level. Read More...
