1 Answer Brent, You will want to try to run the unit through a clean cycle without putting anything into it. This issue will most likely be caused due to detergent build up that causes more sudsing. Tina December 09, 2014 for Model Number WFW9600TW01 I have a whirlpool that has the error code SUD and eventually goes to error code F35. After turning the unit on and off many times the washer eventually runs. I had a tech come out and he diagnosed it with a bad "steamer board control" which is discontinued. Everywhere online I looked I came up with the resolution to replace the pressure sensor which is easily available. Is this something I should try first b/c I have not found a single situation with these same errors that say its the steamer board.

Bill S July 16, 2014 for Model Number WFW 9500 TW01 Got the sud and f35 error codes ..checked connections, blew out pressure tube,checked drain catch,(nothing in it). Called whirlpool (they knew less than I did from my internet studies and you tube watching). So I went and bought the APS switch ..installed it..still exact same codes . Sydney and then F35 ..still goes unto a daring loop and you have to unplug it. When I tried before,and after, the diagnostic cycle did the same--- started c00 and then pops out F35 and stops. Some where I read about checking the air dam? And some drain hoses in the bottom of the tub? I've mot read how,or where to do that,(I've also not tried to you tube that exact thing yet ! Any help appreciated ..I'm slready out the $132 for the APS..and they said there was no way to test if one was good or not ! Bill Spratt
1 Answer Bill, There are two hoses involved at the drain pump the tub to pump hose WPW10467168 and the drain hose WPW10003250 The tub to pump hose will need to be disconnected from both, the tub and the pump and check for cogs and debris. Be careful with the ping pong ball, don't crush it or loose it. disconnect the drain hose from the pump and check to see if anything flushes out of the hose. You'll need some towels or containers to catch the water from the hoses and pump. Recheck the wires and connections between the Analog Pressure Switch, and the CCU (central control unit) and make sure there are no loose connections and that the pins are seated properly and tightly. There is a slight possibility that the Steamer Control W10172726 could cause the issue, but that should be the last resort, after everything else is checked and verified. Read More...

Gary B March 16, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool Duet Mod# WFW9600TA00 Keep getting code "SUD", cleaned bottom trap. small wire nothing else there. Tried diagnostics and it ran thru all codes ok. Tried to run thru cleaning cycle started out sud then went to F35. Hate to buy pressure switch if that's not issue. Going to blow out tube to pressure switch tomorrow. It's been acting up on and off past month. I'd unplug machine, plug back in and it would work. Last Thurs. washed five loads no issue today I can't get away from Sud code. Any help be appreciated.
1 Answer Gary, Along with blowing out the pressure hose, you will want to pull the hose from the bottom of the tub and make sure that there is nothing that is clogged in this hose. I have done all the suggestions short of replacing the pressure switch. Could you please tell me how to remove the old switch after I have removed the top and disconected the hose from it? Thank You

For the pressure switch Press and release the 2 wire connector locking arms and pull the connector off the switch. Once you remove the top panel of the washer, you should find the pressure switch WPW10415587 mounted to the right side on the cabinet interior.
