The Pressure Switch is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This component is crucial for monitoring and controlling the water level within the washer, ensuring it fills to the appropriate level for each cycle.

Common causes of a bad pressure switch include electrical faults, wear and tear from regular use, or damage due to exposure to water and detergent. These issues can prevent the switch from accurately detecting and regulating water levels.

Symptoms of a bad pressure switch include:

  • Washer overfilling or underfilling
  • Inconsistent water levels during cycles
  • Error codes related to water level issues
  • The washer not progressing through cycles properly

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Pressure Switch (Part Number: OEM18067575)

Hello Jerry. Yes, if the pressure switch WPW10514214 is bad, or the pressure hose is bad, it will cause the unit to overflow. If you can turn off the water by pressing stop on the machine, it is the switch or hose. If you have to turn the water off to stop the water, it is the water valve. Hope this helps.

Tonyr for Model Number Whirlpool Duet

This is more of an FYI for the FH code that some people have been getting I checked everything, the flow meter, the hoses and their screens, I even went and cleaned out the outlet hose on the back and inside the washer and still came up with the FH code. I checked the filter in the pump that removes the water from the washer and yes I found a sock in it but even after I removed the sock I still got the FH code and then a man suggested that I check the black (some models may have a clear hose) hose that connects to the water pressure switch and to the tub of the washer and bingo bang-go there it was. That hose had a stress in the side of the hose and in that stress area it had a tiny pin size hole. Replaced the hose and all is good at Tony's house and all it cost was $10 and my time.

Hello Kim. They should be labled. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. You will be looking for closed continuity across pins 21 and 22. Hope this helps.

Hello Pas. You can check across pins 21 and 22 and see if they are closed, when the machine is empty. If they are open, the switch is bad. Hope this helps.

Hello Mark. You will need to remove the top panel of the machine. Then unplug the wires and hose going to the old switch. Twist the old switch and remove. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps.
