Brandon October 29, 2014 for Model Number DU945PWPQ2 Dishwasher turns on but will not run through wash cycle. Dishwasher will only go through drain cycle. I added water and it will drain the dishwasher. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Brandon, You should run a diagnostic cycle to help pinpoint the issue. Pressing the following option keys in the sequence shown will start the Diagnostics Cycle: HIGH TEMP WASH ? HEATED DRY ? HIGH TEMP WASH ? HEATED DRY OR POWER SCOUR (HIGH TEMP SCRUB) ? HEATED DRY ? POWER SCOUR (HIGH TEMP SCRUB) ? HEATED DRY This will help to pinpoint the cause of the issue and is fully explained on the tech sheet behind the kickpanel. Read More...
Andrew June 27, 2014 for Model Number wad530plym When I run my dishwasher it fills with water, it is heating the water, then the light just stays on clean and does not progress through the remaining cycles. If I hit cancel it will drain.
1 Answer Hello Andrew. If the unit is filling with water, but there is no power to the motor, you will need to replace the control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Don March 25, 2014 for Model Number FG4502106 My Whirlpool Quiet Wash Plus 940 series dishwasher seemed to have shorted out this morning while in the drying cycle. I was standing next to it and heard a hiss. It emitted black smoke from the vent at the top right corner (soot blackened the plastic around the vent). It smelled like burning electrics/metal. I immediately shut it off and haven't done anything with it since. Does this sound like it can be repaired or is it time for a new dishwasher?
1 Answer Don, The unit can most likely be repaired but we would need to have the model number to be able to assist properly. The issue could be a burnt out element which sounds more likely or could be a bad control board. If you could supply the model number we would be able to assist properly. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Larry March 12, 2014 for Model Number du926pfgq4 Dishwasher was repaired in Sept. again in Nov. and has stopped again. The fuse always blows in the same cycle midway thru wash with a little water left in the bottom. Repairman always uses the wiring harness when replacing the thermal fuse. He only warrants the part for only 30 days. He recommends we buy a new dishwasher. This machine is 14 years old. Other than the fuse, unit works fine. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Larry, The fuse is blown by excessive current flow. For this reason, the technician should have done some tests to determine if the issue is with the unit or in the wiring to it. You see, if there is excessive current flow at the fuse, there is excessive current flow in the entire circuit, including the breaker and the wiring to the unit. It is a common failure for a motor winding to short and cause this but it is just as common to locate a burned wire nut or a bad breaker that can cause the same issue. Read More...
Kevin January 05, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool du945pwpt0 dishwaher My dishwasher was running and was opened up during the cycle. The dishwasher will not turn on, and none of the buttons light up. I have tried checking the outlet, which works. The dishwasher has not drained. What do you think it is?
1 Answer Hello Kevin. Check the door switches and make sure they are good and make sure the thermal fuse 675813 is good on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Atx June 15, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool DU941PWKQ1 Not all of the buttons on my dishwasher will function. Whirlpool DU941PWKQ1. The Rinse button appears to work, and the Pots and Pans cycle button works, but none of the other wash cycles will function properly. Cancel/drain appears to work. Most of the other buttons will neither work nor light up. When I hit Normal Wash, the sani rinse and cancel drain buttons light up and won't turn off. The Normal wash button doesn't cause the actual wash cycle to start; I think it just goes into drain mode (although there is nothing to drain). I'm stuck using a lot of water and energy because only the Pots and Pans wash cycle will work. Any ideas what is causing this or how to fix it? I'd like to be able to use light wash and normal wash again. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello ATX. You need to order and replace the control panel on the unit based on the information you provided. Read More...

Laura March 06, 2013 for Model Number Kenmore Dishwasher 66513442K900 Hi, Our dishwasher will not start when we push the start button, however every other button will work and it will drain when you push the cancel button and you can set it to any of the cycle options, we just cant get the start button to work. Wondering what it could be?
1 Answer Hello Laura. If the door switches are good, you will need to order and replace the control panel on the unit. You can access the tech sheet on the unit and do a ribbon cable test, but most of the time it is a bad panel. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
