Pkcouch, The resistance of this thermistor should be 2.7K ohms at room temperature and if it is not getting that reading or is showing an open circuit then it would be faulty and need to be replaced.

Josh, The temperature sensor for the freezer will be part number WP2188819 and should be located on the upper right side of the freezer section. Maybe behind a cover.

Jim, as the thermistor has been replaced, the failure would be in the main control 8201658 based on the information provided. Unfortunately, this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available.

Phillips, if the compressor is running non-stop to try to reach temperature, and the condenser coils are clean, then there would be a sealed system issue that would require an EPA certified tech to properly diagnose and repair.

Jeff, the defrost heater WP2323198 would need to be tested for resistance and should measure between 21-27O. The entire defrost circuit can be tested from the main control WP2313177 (with the refrigerator unplugged) from the connection P1 pin 3 (pink wire) to pin 2 (white wire) for resistance. If there is not a resistance value measured, and the defrost heater tests within tolerance when tested directly at the heater, then there is a wiring issue. If the resistance checks good from the main control, then the main control has failed. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued the main control and it is no longer available.

Hello Sandi, yes, it's likely the compressor had a problem and damaged the compressor run circuit in the main control board, unfortunately the main control board part 8201528 is no longer available. To test the compressor would require an appliance tech to check it.

Tony, Both WPW10425252 Cover have tabs on the side/end of each cover " Depress the tabs on either end of the Thermistor cover and remove." A small flat blade screwdriver may come in handy to carefully press in on the tabs.
