3-cycle mechanical timer that controls the sequence and timing of wash cycles, restoring proper cycle advancement and operation for washers that won't advance or complete cycles. Fits in the original timer location to re-establish cycle control. What it does:

  • Rotates the cam to advance cycle stages and routes power to the motor, pump and valves.
  • Restores cycle sequencing when a machine stops mid-cycle or won't advance to the next step.
  • Replaces worn or non-indexing timers that cause intermittent or no cycle movement.
  • Transfers timed electrical signals to start/stop agitation, spin and drain functions.
What's included: One timer assembly. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before starting — risk of electrical shock.
  • Document or photograph all wire locations before disconnecting to ensure correct reconnection.
  • Install in the original orientation; secure mounting hardware and avoid forcing gears or tabs.
  • After installation, run a complete cycle to ensure proper operation.

For Whirlpool Timer (3-Cycle) (Part Number: OEM18025101)

Dukenc for Model Number Kenmore model/stock # 96588210 switch # 3398194

Hello my Kenmore electric dryer all of a sudden would stop a couple of times in the mid drying cycle. When I pushed the start button it would work fine and cycle thru. Heat did not seem to be an issue. Today when I went to press the start button the dryer will not start. I tried turning the timmer knob thru a few cycles and it still will not start? Could it be the timmer switch? The pn is 3398914 . Thanks in advance for your help.

Duke, It could be the timer, but you'd actually want to test the door switch and start switch first. It's more likely to have a bad switch, W10820036 or WP3395382, than a bad timer contact with the issue as you describe it.

Hello Karin. If the unit needs to cool for a few minutes and then starts and runs, it sounds like the motor is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit.
