Alex R. January 24, 2012 for Model Number MVWc300VW1 Washer belongs to a friend's niece. It quit...could not turn the motor by hand...took the pump off and found a childs sock...set the dial on spin...could not get the motor to run...no hum...removed motor...does not look like it has been hot nor does it smell like it...what contacts do should I have continuity...timer does not smell like it is burned either. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Alex. Check and make sure you plugged the lid switch WP8318084 back into the connector on the washer. If not, it will cause the problem you are having with the washer. If the lid switch is good, test for power to the motor on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Christina May 18, 2011 The lid doesn't make it come on and off, pushing back on the top panel makes it come back on when it cuts off. I can push on the front where the knob you pull out to turn it on and it will start back up.
1 Answer Hello Christina! The lid switch WP8318084 on your model is covered by the control panel. When moving the panel you can move the wiring around causing it to activate the lid switch. You will need to check the lid switch and the wiring. Hope this helps, thanks! Read More...
Christina May 17, 2011 for Model Number MVWC300VW My washer will work sometime but others when I put it on a cycle it doesn't wanna start but I can move the top and it will sometimes start and then go out again I was wondering if it could have something to do with the timer or could it be something else like the sequencer?
1 Answer Hello Christina. If you can move the lid and get the unit to start, you may have a bad lid switch WP8318084. Hope this helps. Read More...
