Mohammad November 30, 2021 for Model Number GC3JHAXTS01 I will be replacing the defrost thermostat. Original has brown and red wires. Replacement has black and red wires. Should I connect the replacement black wire to original brown or red wire?? Thanks
1 Answer Mohammad, Based on the information provided the defrost thermostat is either on or off switch therefore the wire position would not matter, ( you could do color for color just to be uniform). Read More...
David November 29, 2021 for Model Number ED22PEXHB02 I recently installed the W10822278 Defrost Timer for my Whirlpool (Model ED22PEXHB02). The new defrost timer only works part of the time, meaning some of the time the refrigerator will enter defrost mode and exit the mode normally. Other times it enters defrost mode and never exits. When this happens I don't hear the 'ticking' from the defrost timer module. If I give the panel underneath the defrost timer a firm knock with my knuckles the refrigerators starts right up. Any suggestions?
1 Answer David, if the timer W10822278 is receiving voltage from the thermostat WP2198202 at the time of failure and the timer does not continue to cycle, it would need to be replaced. However, if the defrost timer does not receive voltage from the thermostat, the thermostat would be the cause of failure. Read More...
1 Answer Harry, if the original defrost timer has a white wire at terminal 3, the black wire would need to be placed at terminal 1. If it does not have a white wire, the black wire would be placed at terminal 2. Read More...

Levi October 31, 2021 for Model Number Whirlpool ET20DK There weren’t any instructions included with my replacement defrost timer and after watching the video I’m not sure which place to put the black wire. Model is Whirlpool ET20DK. There’s also a green grounding wire on the original timer, what do I do with that?
1 Answer Levi, unfortunately, the model number provided appears to be a partial model. However, if the wires going to the defrost timer include a white wire, the timer black wire will go to terminal 1. If there is not a white wire, it will go to terminal 2. The green ground wire can be taped off as it is not needed with this timer. Read More...
