Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Washer Timer (Part Number: OEM18026580)

1 Answer

George, The timer for your washer does not have individual wires. The timer wiring harness consists of wire harness connector blocks ( has two block connectors) The connectors are arranged and "Keyed" to fit only one way on the timer, basically a "plug and Play" fitting. We were unable to acquire a wiring diagram or schematic for your unit. The manufacturer has discontinued the diagram part. Thanks

John for Model Number 11092588210

I have a Kenmore washer (110 92588210) that stops and eventually starts again before finishing the cycle. The washer will fill, then stop. After about 5 minutes, it will start back for about 10-15 seconds then stop again. This continues until the cycle is complete. I've tried normal, ultra clean, and perm press cycles and they all do the same thing. Cold water flowed slowly (a trickle), so I replaced the water inlet valve. That worked for a day and back to a trickle. Warm or hot water flows normal. Replaced shredded motor coupling and lid switch. What next, the control board, the timer? I spoke with a repairman and he said that it was either the motor or the timer. He told me to start the washer and if the motor was HOT to the touch (not warm or cool) then the motor needs replacing. I did as he said and felt the motor and it was HOT (not warm or cool), so I ordered a new motor. I replaced the motor and I still have the same issue. What now?

Hello John. Based on all the information you provided, it sounds like the motor WP661600 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Hope this helps.
