  • Advances the selected program using internal cams and switch contacts
  • Common symptoms: cycle won't advance or stops mid-cycle; timer knob doesn't move or only advances by hand
  • Also cause intermittent no-start or incorrect/agitation spin timing
What's included: 1 timer assembly Installation notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing
  • Access timer from the control console; remove the knob/dial and mounting screws or tabs
  • Transfer wires one at a time from the old timer to the new (take a photo for reference)

Tommy for Model Number lxr9245eq1

Have an issue where sometimes my washer works fine in rinse/spin cycle and sometimes it doesn't. When it's not working, there's an obvious popping and clicking sound coming from the timer. When it's doing this the washer doesn't do much of anything. It is an intermittent problem. When it works, no sounds come from the timer. To me the obvious would be the timer is bad. The sound that it makes when its not working is very obvious. Am I missing something else that could cause this? Thank you

Tommy, Based on the information provided, it does sound like the timer WP3949208 may be causing the unit to not operated and may have contacts that are sticking. You can access the timer and unplug unit. Disconnect the timer harness and look for discoloration of around the pins of the timer and check the harness for discoloration from arching.

Hello Susan. You will need to check and see if the lid switch 3949247V is bad on the unit. It will cause the unit not to spin or drain the water out if it is bad.

Hello Rick. If there is power at the outlet, but none coming to the unit, make sure the lid switch 3949247V is good, and if so, you may have a bad wiring harness 3950998 on the unit. Check for loose, broken, or burnt wires and connections. Hope this helps.
