Steve S May 04, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool LSN2000PW4 Having issue with not being able to fill tub with water (for either wash or rinse cycles). Both the Hot/Cold water are operational, but water drains during fill process and never reaches set level. I've replaced the timer thinking there was an issue with switch contacts, assuming it was controlling a drain valve, but looks like I was wrong. From what I see - water going in directly drains out. Can you help? What controls water drain function? Thanks!!
1 Answer Hello Steve. It sounds like the drain hose is to far inside the drain pipe or the there is no air gap for the drain hose. There should only be about 6 to 8" of drain hose into the drain pipe. Also, the drain hose should not be tight into the drain pipe. Both of these can cause the unit to siphone out the water in the unit. Read More...
Danny November 19, 2011 for Model Number LSQ9010LW3 My whirlpool washer is not working right. it has several issues but hopefully by explaining the first thing that it doesnt do, will help determine the problem. no matter which wash cycle i have the machine in , the cold water will not dispence. even if i swith water temp eratur to cold it wont dispense cold water only hot. i had to switch the main water lines to get cold water. the wash cycle does not work properly i have to manually set the timer to repeat a wash and rinse cycle. is the timer bad? or can these issues be from something else?
1 Answer Danny, All your issues are associated to the cold water fill problem. A timer issue is the least likeliest issue at this point. First check you need to make, if you haven't yet, is the fill hose and fill valve debris screens and hoses fopr clogs and possible kinks, then the fill valve 285805 and wires, if you have a meter each solenoid should have a resistance of 500 to 1000 ohms resistance with the wires disconnected. But that test does not guarantee theres no internal failure in the valve itself, which is not uncommon. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
