James October 09, 2013 for Model Number MAV5000AWW My washer will not fill or run on any of the 3 wash selections. When the timer switch is rotated click by click clockwise and then pulled out the washer will begin to operate when I reach the spin cycle on all three selections.
1 Answer Hello James. Test for power to the water valve WP22002707 and look for clogged screens. If there is power, and no water, replace the water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jp January 18, 2013 for Model Number MAV5000AWW How do I remove the timer from the control panel? I have it exposed and the wires disconnected, but I am not sure how to remove it from the panel. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello JP. The center of the timer knob pops out. Then you remove the clip inside the tiemr knob and pull of the knob, and the dial skirt. Once removed, you can remove the screws securing the timer and replace the timer on the unit. Read More...
Glenn August 23, 2011 for Model Number MAV5000AWW My timer switch is definately bad. There are contacts fried on the little spring contact bars. Q's: 1-Is it possible to purchase a used working timer? 2-Or just the contact insert to replace mine in the timer switch? (This is a series of 23 spring bars with contacts at the ends to be switches.) 3-Or is there a way to replace the contact point on the little bar? (I actually doubt this, unless you have solderable contacts.) 4- Tangent-(I was wondering if the contact is a different material from the spring bar? The bar seems to be brass, but the contact is silvery, so I wondered if it was a harder material such as Tungstun?) 5-Other than that, how long does it take to order the timer switch? 310-379-2304
1 Answer Hello Glenn. No the parts are not available separately, you will need to replace the timer WP22002715. Hope this helps. Read More...
Guest March 16, 2011 My washer timer I think is going bad, it fills, washes just fine however when the dial reaches the spin cycle the dial will keep turning but nothing happens. I have to manual turn the dial sometimes all the way around or maybe hit on another spin cycle that will start the spin. Is this the timer causing the issue?
1 Answer Hello. It sounds like you could have a timer issue. First check the lid switch. 12001908 There may be an intermittent contact inside the lid switch. When the contacts open, this indicates to the machine that the lid is open and the washer turns ‘OFF’. When checked, the switch appears to operate normally and ohms out correctly. To identify this condition, turn ‘ON’ the washer and set into agitation or spin. While washer is running, wiggle the wire harness and connector attached to the lid switch. If the contacts are “bad”, the washer will shut ‘OFF’. If the washer shuts ‘OFF’, replace the lid switch. Read More...
