William C Grafton , MA February 03, 2015 Appliance: Model MAYTAG WASHER LAT9604AAE My maytag washing machine model# latxxxxaae would not agitate on wash cycle The basin would fill but would not agitate, there was no sound, no grinding noises, no sound of a motor running without agitation due to a broken belt. The basin full of water was able to drain if I advanced the timer to Spin. By playing around with the timer dial further, I could get every function of the washer to operate, at least partially. So, that said electrical problem to me. I assumed the trouble was either the safety switch at the back of the lid or the timer mechanism. Tested the lid switch after watching a good YouTube video about how to do it, and ruled that out. So I ordered a new timer (about $140 with shipping) and the machine now runs perfectly. Robert G Baton Rouge , LA November 01, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LAT9605AAE Washing machine timer Bought the timer from these guys and was delivered to the house in 3 days. Removed the front control panel and in a matter of 15-20 minutes had the new timer installed and the machine was working fine. My wife is happy the washing machine is back to it's old self. Last time I changed a timer it was 35 years ago and I had to transfer each wire one at a time from the old timer to the new timer, this time it was one large plug with all the wires.
