Part Number: OEM18022428
Manufacturer Part Number: WP27001113

This OEM part is a timer for washing machines. The timer is the part that controls the desired time of the wash cycle. Over time, a timer can become inoperable after excessive use. If the timer motor has shorted, it will stop functioning properly. If the timer is no longer operating properly, it will need to be replaced. To replace the timer, start by removing the control panel of the washer. The control panel can be removed by unthreading the mounting screws that secure it. Once the screws have been removed tilt the control panel up to gain access to the timer. Once located, take a pair of needle-nose pliers and grab the centerpiece that rotates. Once the pliers have locked onto the centerpiece, proceed to pull off the timer knob from the front of the control panel. Then pull the timer dial off. Disconnect the two wire harnesses. Once these wires have been removed, slide the timer out from its place. Take the new timer and line it up with the four mounting tabs. Slide it in so the locking tabs lock into place. Reinsert the wires in their correct terminals and secure the control panel. This genuine replacement part is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, Sears, and Kenmore brand washers.

Hi Evan. While filling on the start of a normal cycle, if you unplug the unit during this process and water keeps flowing it needs changed. Now then if stops filling after the unit is unplugged, then it is a bad pressure switch. Pressure switch is part # WP27001203. It sounds like you did correctly bu blowing out the pressure hose towards the tub so you can dislodge any lint or debris that will make a pressure switch to "misread" also. Thank You.

Michael, I wouldn't start at the timer, it's most likely a mechanical failure in the drive pulley, helix, and brake assembly(s), unless the motor never changes direction and spin. Good Luck and Thanks

Penny for Model Number sav515deww

Hello, my washer is about 6 to 7 yrs. old. It has stopped working on two of the cycles. My daughter without knowing washed some clothes while we were out of town, when we came home the washer was still full of water and the cycle she washed the clothes on was still running about 6 hrs. later. Thanks goodness it didn't flood my house or burn up. The washer was hot to the touch though. It is almost like the timer or something the dial never moves from the set spot except on the wrinkle free cycle and one other, I only wash on those at this time, and there is never a problem then. What does this sound like to you? Also , how difficult for a layman to change out the part? Thanks Penny

Hello Chuck! Have you checked the back of the appliance where the hose goes into the standpipe? If the hose is too tight or goes into the standpipe to far it will cause a siphoning effect (fill and drain at the same time). Check this and repost if the problem still persists. Thanks.
