Michael November 26, 2012 for Model Number pyet444ayw My dryer will not start. The light in unit will not come on either. I have checked the door switch which is fine. I have also checked thermal fuse. What else can I check.
1 Answer Hello Michael, You would want to check to make sure that you are getting 240 vac across the terminal block. If you are not then check each leg of terminal block to find out which one you are losing. Double check you outlet to make sure that you have 240 vac there and that you have 120 off each leg. If no voltage then problem lies in home wiring. If you have voltage at outlet but not at terminal block then you have a bad power cord. If you have voltage at the terminal then you want to recheck your thermals on the side of the heater to make sure that they are good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Jeff November 21, 2012 for Model Number pyet444ayw The dryer was working fine and just cut off. The circuit broker was not blown. The control knob sounds funny when you turn it.
1 Answer Hello Jeff, You may want to check your thermal fuse LA-1053 to make sure that it is not blown. Check the continuity of the fuse. If you have continuity then it is good if not then it needs to be replaced. If thermal fuse is blown then you want to check you dryer venting to ensure that there are not clogs. I would also check blower wheel to ensure that there is no lint build up on it and check ducting all the way to the outside of home. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Steve. You can test the motor leads and see if there is power coming to them. If so, and the motor does not turn the timer, you will need to replace the timer WP31001731. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Bill October 04, 2011 for Model Number HYE3460Ayh Timer for a Maytag Dryer, is there a diagram on how to install.
1 Answer Hello Bill. No, there is no diagram. You will pull the knob off the front of the timer. Then remove the screws out of the back of the control panel and remove the back panel. Once removed, you will remove the screws holding the timer in place and remove the timer. Unplug the wires from the old timer and install the wires on the correct terminals on the new timer WP31001731. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
