  • Routes power to the motor and other circuits as the internal cam advances
  • Advances through timed and automatic cycles to complete the load
  • Common symptoms of a failed timer: cycle won't advance, dryer runs too long or won't shut off, won't start or only works on one setting, stops mid-cycle
What's included: 1 dryer timer Install notes:
  • Disconnect power; for gas dryers, also turn off the gas supply
  • Access the control console; remove the old timer from its mounting and note wire locations
  • Photograph wiring and transfer leads to the same labeled terminals one at a time
  • Reassemble the console, restore power, and test that all cycle positions advance and shut off properly

Barrynperkins for Model Number MDE4000AYW

Hi, The dryer runs without stopping. Looks like I need to replace the timer. I see two timers as options - #7 on diagram which is part number AP6007988 - #7a on diagram which is part number AP6007935 The appliance is the Maytag Neptune Dryer with model number MDE4000AYW and Serial number 28650586YM. Which is the correct, or best part to replace my dryer timer? And... why is the one that you recommend the one that I should use? I'd like to be sure that I order the correct part from you so I can get the dryer up and running as quickly as possible. Thank you!
