Renee January 06, 2019 for Model Number MDE4000AYQ Hi: I have a Maytag dryer, MDE4000AYQ SN: 28145476WY. The dryer stopped heating so I called in a service technician who tested all parts and stated the timer is out. I see two different timers listed in your parts list. Can you please tell me the correct one to purchase? Thank you in advance and for the video on how to repair. Looks like something even I can do! :)
Renee January 06, 2019 for Model Number MDE4000AYQ Hi: My dryer has no heat. Had service technician out who tested all parts and stated the timer is out. Watching your video, it appears to be a relatively easy fix. :) Can you please tell me if this seems accurate and what would be the correct part number for my old, but reliable unit? Thank you!
Barrynperkins October 21, 2018 for Model Number MDE4000AYW Hi, The dryer runs without stopping. Looks like I need to replace the timer. I see two timers as options - #7 on diagram which is part number AP6007988 - #7a on diagram which is part number AP6007935 The appliance is the Maytag Neptune Dryer with model number MDE4000AYW and Serial number 28650586YM. Which is the correct, or best part to replace my dryer timer? And... why is the one that you recommend the one that I should use? I'd like to be sure that I order the correct part from you so I can get the dryer up and running as quickly as possible. Thank you!

Steve January 09, 2018 I have a Maytag Neptune MDG4000BWW, Serial #31617146YU that only heats only on every third drying cycles. If I manually move the knob to another position I can get the unit to heat up. I think this might be the timer. Does it sound like it needs to be replaced?
1 Answer Steve, based on your post information and description, the timer WP33001730 / 33001730 may be the place to start. It is possible for the internal cam wheel or the heater cam switch to be weak or damaged and causing the dryer to heat on an intermittent basis. Read More...
Luke December 26, 2016 for Model Number MDG9806AWW I went to check the clothes and weren't dry. I moved the timer again and the dryer heated up. I turn the dryer back on again and no heat. I tried other selections on heat and it didn't shut off on the other selections. I'm pretty sure its the timer and not the igniter. Thank you

Ljb March 02, 2014 for Model Number MDE4000AYW Serial number 28667264WY The timer may be the issue. The dryer heats only when the timer spindle is held in just the right spot.
