Sue December 10, 2013 for Model Number MDE7657BYQ I need to replace the timer on this dryer. I have removed the front panel down, but I do not see how the timer comes off so it can be replaced. Is there a video to help me?
1 Answer Hello Sue. Here are the instructions from the manufacture on how to remove the timer, you will install in reverse order. Thanks! 1. Disconnect power to the appliance. 2. Carefully lift the timer knob and dial off the timer shaft by pulling the knob away from the face of the control console. 3. Remove the two timer mounting screws (now exposed on the control console) when the timer dial skirt is removed. 4. Disengage the console assembly from the top cover and roll forward. Read More...
Jun November 07, 2013 for Model Number MDG6657BWW I have a defective timer on my Maytag Model MDG6657BWW dryer with serial number 12435461ER. What part number should I order?

1 Answer Jay, To change out the timer on the unit you will need to access the control panel. There will be 3 screws across the top back that you will remove and roll the control panel forward. Once you have the back of the timer exposed there is a hole in the center with a post in it. Lift the post out and you will be able to remove the timer knob and skirt. Take out the screw holding the timer in place and slide to the left. Disconnect the harness and install the new timer and reassemble. When you get the timer knob on you will push the post back into the hole. Read More...
Walt October 22, 2013 for Model Number mdg7400aww I recently purchased a timer from your company for my dryer. I spoke to someone on Sunday. The first timer the dial would not turn to zero and shut off dryer. I received a replacement today and tried it out, and it still won't turn the dial and shut off. The dryer is heating up and running. The purchase order is 3732460
1 Answer Walt, based on the model and serial number on APP order #3732460, you have a "series" 20 machine. The correct timer for that model and serial number is WP33002803 the tag on the timer should contain the number 6 3720660 (MPN). If the new timer will not advance, then the issue is in the dryness display board assembly 33002905, or there is a broken white (neutral) wire in the harness or no neutral at the outlet. Read More...
