Curtis April 12, 2011 for Model Number mvwc6esww1 How do you remove the control panel, so I can change the timmer?
1 Answer Hello Curtis. There is a clip under each front corner of the control panel that will need to be released to access the timer. Use a flat blade putty knife or butter knife, and press in on the clips to release. Then the control panel will flip backwards to access the timer. Hope this helps. Read More...
Fernando T March 25, 2011 for Model Number MVWC6ESWW1 Good Morning. Regarding my Maytag washer Timer Whirlpool part #AP4418305 that I ordered this past Wednesday, which I should receive today, I had asked how to remove the Knob from the panel control assembly so I could replace the existing Timer with the new one I ordered and someone from your department advised me to stick a small screwdriver into the shaft which is in back of the Timer. I tried it last evening but it would not release the Knob. I did not want to push the screwdriver to hard into the shaft because of fear I would break some part of the Knob and then would not be able to use it and have to order another one. Following is information I got off the existing Timer part: Built in Mexico, INVENSYS #W10243947, HD2B, 570-77550. I hope this can help you help me take the Knob off without breaking anything. Should I continue sticking the screwdriver into the shaft to try and release the Knob or is there a different thing I can do to take the Knob off and install it on the new Timer part. Please help. Await your response. Thank you in advance for your help and advise. Mr. Terrones.
1 Answer Hello Fernando. You will need to insert the screwdriver into the shaft opening and pull out on the shaft, to release the knob. Hope this helps. Read More...
Fernando March 24, 2011 for Model Number MVWC6ESWW1 Recently I ordered the Timer part #AP4418305 made by Whirlpool for our Maytag washer. My question is, how do I remove the existing Timer part in order to replace it with the new Timer part I ordered. I tried pulling the Timer Knob from the control lpanel assembly but it would not come out. Is there like a lock washer that I need to remove first to remove the Timer Know in order for the Timer part to come off. Please advise. Thank you for your assistance.
1 Answer Hello Fernando. It can be a little tricky removing the timer knob. On the back of the timer where the shaft comes through is a small slot that you stick a small screwdriver into. When you insert the screwdriver it will relaese the timer knob then you can pull it off of the shaft. Hope this helps. Read More...
