The turntable tray is responsible for smoothly rotating food items during cooking cycles to ensure even heating exposure. It prevents hot and cold spots that can ruin prepared meals. What is the size of this glass tray. I have ordered one of these in the past and the diameter was not the same size as the original. Therefore the original convection rack did not sit on the tray, was larger diameter than the glass tray.

Butch, this tray is 15 3/4" in diameter and is recommended by the manufacturer for your model.

Is this truly a genuine Whirlpool part? I just ordered an "OEM Whirlpool 8205676" plate from a seller on MpAmason and I'm pretty sure I received a Chinese knock-off in a plain box with no indication this was made by Whirlpool. Does the box this come in prove it is a genuine Whirlpool made part?

Hello Philsmarch, If the turntable is not made for the unit it will most likely not line up properly with the turntable coupler. This will cause either uneven heating of the dish or an imbalance that could cause a spill. It is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the turntable W11373838 with the original part as listed on the manufacturers' parts list.

The glass turn table now has a broken off chip which is sharp, but only an inch long on edge Is there a product I can use to fill in so sharp edge not a risk while cleaning? Replacement part retails over $70. If no repair / patch possible, is there a less expensive option ?

My microwave tray is part number 8205676 16 inch tray with the large circular connective part to turn the tray. I have seen part number 8205992 which looks like it would work and it is 15.5 inches but a lot less money on the used market Or so it seems. Maybe there was just a great price on the one I saw. The question is would 8205592 replace 8205676 seamlessly, turning properly and just be a little smaller. Thank you

Zac, It appears that both of these turntable trays are the same size and would be able to use either one in place of the other.
