Johnp March 01, 2015 for Model Number 10657066600 I've noticed recently that one of the relays in our refrigerator clicks, at which point one of the motors/fans changes speed. About twenty seconds later a relay clicks again at which point the motor/fan will change speeds again. We haven't noticed much change in the ability of the refrigerator or freezer to cool but I fear this is a failing part and want to replace it before it fails completely. Any thoughts as to what needs replacing? I'm thinking it's something along the lines of a start relay and overload but I would like to be somewhat certain before I start throwing parts at it.
1 Answer John, You will want to try to determine the area that the click is coming from. It does sound like a start relay that may be going out. Also check to make sure that the condenser fan in the back of the unit is running as it can cause the start relay to go out if the fan is not running. The only other component that could cause this would be the defrost control board. Read More...

Janice June 13, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool GS6SHEXMS00 My frig is making a clicking sound that is coming from one of the 3 relays on the Control Board Part #W10135090 down by the compressor. We sent it to CoreCentric for repair. Reinstalled it & clicking is still there. The clicking doesn't start right away but when it does, the fan stops. After a few clicks, the fan usually starts again & runs for a little bit. We have replaced the Relay/Overload Part #2319792 but not the Run Capacitor Part #2169373. Could it be the Run Capacitor or the other Control Board inside the frig Part #2255414? Or could it be something else? Maybe CoreCentric didn't actually fix the board I sent to them? Help....... We have been without our frig since the end of March. Thx!
1 Answer Janice, If the relay on the board is clicking then it sounds like the board is still the issue. You will want to contact corecentrics and let them know that there is still an issue. Read More...
Bruce March 09, 2014 for Model Number GD5SHAXMB00 Your part number 2319792 has a slight rattle when it is shaken. Occasionally the frig side will go black, but the freezer side light is still on. When I unplug it and replug it the unit comes on fine.
1 Answer Hello Bruce. It is normal for a slight rattle. Also, this part would not affect that issue. You need to look for a bad control or wiring issue on the unit. Read More...

Deborah November 16, 2013 for Model Number Lsc27931st I need a relay/overload but lg does not make this part any longer. Is there a part I can cross reference with? My fridge is only 4 years old.
Luis May 19, 2013 for Model Number ed5fhaxsq 0 1 In this unit my freezer is working good, but the another side the refrigerator stop to work. I clean the coils down but still not working. The motor is hot but no running. I check the star device but ?? this is a old model but and is the first time en several years to fail. My question is if a change the start device the refrigerator side can work with only this part or I need to replace another?
1 Answer Luis, Normally if the start relay on the unit fails, the unit refrigerator and freezer would stop working. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
