John May 31, 2016 for Model Number GD25SFCHS11 My Whirlpool refrig GD25SFCHS11 appears to have a "weeping" water valve, causing the supply line to the icemaker to freeze up. I've replaced the filter, per your suggestion, but that didn't help. Plus I can see the water dripping out of the line even with the icemaker off. I'd like to replace the valve (2199838), but it appears to have been discontinued. One of your videos showed you using a new type valve with push-in connectors. Will one of these new valves be an effective substitute for my old 2199838? No replacements are shown.
1 Answer Hello John. No the part needed 2199838 has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...

Jon October 20, 2014 Ice cube maker has power and goes through cycle, but no water is dispensed. I tinkered around with it one day, and then water came out but didn't stop flowing, had to shut off valve to refrigerator. Turned everything back on again and not water ever since. Put an ohm meter on solenoid of water valve to ice maker and beeps on continuity test. Measured 2.3 ohms on 200 setting. Problem??
1 Answer Hello Jon. It sounds like the fill tube may be frozen and the water valve will need to be replaced. Read More...
Jon October 18, 2014 for Model Number KSCS25FKSS01 Hi, my ice maker go through the motions, but no water dispenses. I checked the small plastic tube chute inside the freezer and no blockage. Line from water valve to top of ice maker had no water in it. Put meter on the two clips to water valve and the "beep" test worked. Set meter to 200 ohms and reading was 2.3. Not sure what this testing tells me?
1 Answer John, If you are only getting a 2.3 ohms reading on the water valve then this would indicate that the water valve is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Ali July 11, 2014 for Model Number KSCS25FKSS00 Hi, Lately I noticed that the water pressure coming from the water dispenser is very low and also the Ice maker does not make ice as much as it used to, when it works it is very slow to fill the tray. Can this be as a result of bad Valve-Inlt? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Ali! Yes, the issue can be caused due to a failing inlet valve, part number 2199838. Thanks! Read More...
Jon B S August 01, 2013 for Model Number KSCS25FKSS01 Jon Swall · Havermale High School I hooked up the water line copper tubing to the sink and then to my Kitchenaid mod #kscs25fkss01 it plug back in the fridge and turned on the water main with ice maker arm in up position it leaked water all over the freezer is the water inlet valve? Is this the same part that control the water shutoff for the ice maker to tell when its full.
1 Answer Jon, The water valve is part of the shut off for the icemaker when it is full. The motor module is what tells the water valve to close and then the valve closes. If the water valve is stuck in the open position then it will cause the issue that you are having of the water running continuously through the valve. Read More...
Tom April 07, 2013 for Model Number KSFS25FJBTO1 Ice maker works but not water dispenser. Have voltage to the dispenser microswitch and continuity through the microswitch when activated. Can this be the valve assembly?
1 Answer Hello Tom. Yes, if there is power to the valve and no water, you will need to order and replace the water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
