John for Model Number GD25SFCHS11

My Whirlpool refrig GD25SFCHS11 appears to have a "weeping" water valve, causing the supply line to the icemaker to freeze up. I've replaced the filter, per your suggestion, but that didn't help. Plus I can see the water dripping out of the line even with the icemaker off. I'd like to replace the valve (2199838), but it appears to have been discontinued. One of your videos showed you using a new type valve with push-in connectors. Will one of these new valves be an effective substitute for my old 2199838? No replacements are shown.

John, If you are only getting a 2.3 ohms reading on the water valve then this would indicate that the water valve is faulty and would need to be replaced.

Jon, The water valve is part of the shut off for the icemaker when it is full. The motor module is what tells the water valve to close and then the valve closes. If the water valve is stuck in the open position then it will cause the issue that you are having of the water running continuously through the valve.
