Richard December 18, 2021 for Model Number GEW9250PW1 What is the most likely cause of a loud noise when the dryer is operating? It sounds like it is coming from the rear of the machine. It sounds like something is loose or worn and squeals when the dryer is operating.
1 Answer Hello Richard, This is most likely caused by a bad drum roller wheel. These come in a dryer kit 4392067. The kit includes the idler pulley, the 4 drum rollers, and the belt. Read More...
Ralph August 21, 2020 for Model Number 110.76002011 I have a kenmore dryer. the blower wheel is moving freely in both directions.can't get it off to replace.also, if removed will new one screw onto shaft
1 Answer Ralph, Based on the information provided this is the correct blower wheel for your model and at times they can be a pain to remove. If as you say the old blower wheel turns freely in both directions this means the threads are likely stripped and the wheel may have to be chiseled off. WP697772 below is a link to the part which also has a video under the part of an installation of this blower wheel. https://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-wheel-blower-wp697772-ap6010627.html Read More...
Charlie December 17, 2017 for Model Number WGD9400SW2 When the dryer started making a big noise, I looked in the vent tube and found large pieces of the Blower Wheel and also a U-shaped sheet metal bracket. I'd like to fix this dryer but I'm not sure what parts to replace, and where the bracket came from. Thanks.
1 Answer Charlie, This issue will most likely be caused by a blower wheel WP697772 that needs to be replaced. Read More...

Ferris December 17, 2016 for Model Number 11068932791 I have purchased Two Thermal cut off kits. The dryer starts out running fine, heat up. After about 8mins the thermal fuse blow. What can cause this to happen.
1 Answer Ferris, With the thermal fuse on the heater housing blowing this would be caused by a issue with either the cycling thermostat not opening and allowing the heater to stay on or the timer contact is sticking. Read More...
Carolin December 07, 2016 for Model Number medz600tb2 The blower wheel was frozen on the shaft. My husband chiseled the plastic off, but the metal part is stuck on the shaft and my husband is not able to get it off. Do you have any tricks for this?
1 Answer Carolin, The only way to get the metal piece off would be to get ahold of the motor shaft with a pair of vise grips and use a pipe wrench to try to get the bolt off. Read More...
Ken November 22, 2015 for Model Number WED9200SQ0 The blower wheel is very loose (clattering), but will not come off. Even though holding the D-shaped motor shaft still with a wrench, the blower wheel spins freely in both directions but will not unscrew (clockwise) or tighten (counterclockwise). (I verified the motor shaft is not moving.) Does this blower wheel screw on/off the motor shaft or is it attached/removed in some other manner? I've ordered a replacement but don't know how to get it off given it does not unscrew. Thanks.
Mark October 11, 2015 for Model Number LTG6234DQ0 I have a stacked washer dryer unit and the threads on the blower wheel to the motor shaft seem to be completely stripped. With a wrench to hold the motor shaft I can spin the wheel in either direction and wheel doesn't come out or seat on the shaft. When the dryer runs the wheel does turn, but we are not getting good drying and when turned off it then spins down. Does anyone know how to get out the wheel. Also, does anyone know how to replace the belt on this model? The pulley for the belt is between the motor and the blower wheel so it seems the blower housing has to come completely out of the dryer to get to the pulley. I can't see another way to loop the belt around the pulley. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Mark. Remove the blower cover 279780 and then just pull the stripped wheel off the motor shaft. Read More...
Carl M September 25, 2014 for Model Number W6D9400SU I am replacing the idler pulley and belt on this Whirlpool Duet Dryer. When I took off the lint duct cover, there was a large buildup of lint around the blower wheel. In cleaning off this lint, a felt seal (this is not the blower cover plate seal which is intact and in place) also came off. Is this felt seal supposed to be attached (glued ?) to the blower wheel? It came off very easily and there is no obvious groove that this fits in. Should I try to glue this felt to the blower wheel? With what?
1 Answer Hello Carl. The seal WP697770 is held on with double sided tape. It may be best to replace the seal on the unit. Read More...
