Jj October 02, 2012 for Model Number med9700sbo The blower wheel (squirrel cage) will not unscrew. There is no 1/2 nut on the wheel huband I am unable to spin it off as shown on the wheel. The previous question by Crystel is what I am experiencing but your answer did not help?
1 Answer Hello J.J., Are you sure you are turning it clockwise? Clockwise to remove means the threads are left handed. In other words, tighten it off and loosen it back on. As long as you are turning it the correct direction, my best suggestion is to use a longer wrench and maybe use a cheater bar on the ratchet for better leverage. It is screwed on and it will screw off unless it breaks. The 7/16 inch wrench will fit a flat spot on the motor shaft. It isn't a hex, just a flat part of the motor shaft between the motor and the belt pulley. Read More...
Crystel July 11, 2012 for Model Number med9700sq0 how do i get the squirrel cage off the shaft .it is broke and dont know how to get it off .
1 Answer Crystel, The squirrel cage / blower wheel WP697772 actually screws onto the motor shaft. Here's some help " Reach around to the back of the drive motor and attach a 7/16 inch open-end wrench over the flat of the motor shaft, and a ratchet with a 1/2 inch drive on the blower wheel hub. Turn the blower wheel clockwise (shown by the “REMOVE” arrow that is embossed on the front of the wheel ) and remove the wheel from the motor shaft." Thanks Read More...

Catrina D. January 20, 2012 for Model Number WED8300SW0 Follow up to my question earlier... how do I test to make sure the rollers and idler pulley are functioning correctly?
1 Answer Hello Catrina. Just turn them by hand and make sure they are not tight, or binding up inside the unit. If the roll good and have no play in them, then they should be fine. Thank you. Read More...
Catrina January 20, 2012 for Model Number WED8300SW0 My dryer is heating and drying, but some strange noises while running. I cleaned the baffles and that took care of ALOT of the noise, but when the cycle is complete and the dryer stops, the blower wheel is loose and continues to turn several times before stopping and makes a horrible loud noice at the end. While drying, it also sound like theres a bolt or coin or lighter somewhere banging as it turns...this noise is occasional...like it gets trapped and then works its way free again. Any ideas? I know we need to replace the blower wheel but is there something we could be missing?
1 Answer Hello Catrina. No, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the blower wheel WP697772 is causing the noise. Make sure the rollers and idler pulley are good. If so, just replace the blower wheel. Hope this helps. Read More...
Pam January 11, 2012 for Model Number MOD110.97562601 Dryer not drying clothes. Gets warm but not hot enough to dry clothes. Also, the dryer stopped and then started again by itself. Any thoughts?
1 Answer Hello Pam. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Hope this helps. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Harold. Based on the model number you provided, you will release the clips on the top of the toe panel. You can use a putty or butter knife to do this, then remove the toe panel, and remove the screws at the bottom of the front panel. Pull the bottom of the front panel out, and remove the front panel.
