My wire whip, has crooked, there black stuff coming off it all over, and in my food, I always hand wash it, but have not used it for a year, used my hand mixer, I thought they were stainless steal. Can you tell me why three is black stuff coming off on my hands and food? Is it too old?

Rhodina, Check for grease as this could be causing the black stuff on the whip. The other thing that would cause this issue is if the whip has oxidation on it.
