Samsung DA97-06473B Refrigerator Ice Dispenser Door Assembly OEM Part

Disassembly is a little tricky. First, with a #2 phillips screwdriver, remove the single screw to the left of the ice chute/water dispenser. You'll have to get down low and look up from underneath. Next, underneath on either side, there are little slots with arrows pointing to them. Take a small straight slot screw driver and insert in each slot while gently pulling on the clear ice chute. It will pop out bottom edge first. Keep pulling out and up. The whole screen will pop out. Let it hang by the wire. Next, you'll have to look deep into the assembly.You might need a flashlight. There are two screws. You may have to move some wires out of the way to see them. Use the #2 phillips to remove the two screws. Then, on either side there are little plastic tabs. Use the straight screwdriver to pry the tabs out. It doesn't take much so be gentle not to break them. The whole assembly will come loose. Disconnect the wire plugs and take the unit out. Reassembly is done in reverse.

The ice chute door for my Samsung side-by-side Model RSG257AARS/XAA was not letting the ice out. This part fixed the problem. It was fairly easy to replace. Unplug the fridge before beginning. To remove the display panel, remove the screw to the left of the ice chute, push flat blade screw drivers in the two small openings on the underside of the display panel (at outer edges, one on each side), and pull out at the bottom of the display panel. It will take some force but try to be gentle. Do not pull on the ice chute. The screw driver blades need to go into the thin slot opening that is above the opening in the display panel and against the door. Use a flash light to see it. I taped the fridge door all around the display to make sure I did not scratch the stainless steel. Once the display is popped loose, I wrapped it with a towel and taped it to the door out of the way (did not have to unplug). Note how the water supply hose and ice chute assembly wiring is routed (take a photo). Unclip the water supply hose, unplug the 2 wire connectors, remove two screws, and push the upper left tab and lower right tab toward the center of the part to remove the ice chute assembly. Looking at the new ice chute door assembly before removing the old one will help you to see where the wire connectors, screws, and tabs are located. Re-install in reverse order. I hope this helps!

This on the freezer door mounted maker has three components of which only one was known to be broken - the chute trap door came off the hinges when dislodging a chute ice dam. Diagnostics in this small town is scarce but we finally got an appliance repairman out who ID'd the most probable cause, removed the trap door assemble to illustrate 1) it was broken - plastic, 2) how it goes in/out for a possible DIY fix AppPros HAD this part in stock (the cheapest of the 3 - yeah!), shipped it pronto DIY fix worked great!

Decided to order the full ice route part as I thought replacing the larger part would be easier. It was. Followed the How To narratives offered with the part description and had no trouble. Took about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. Need to work slow and not force anything, but the part comes out easily enough and is replaces with little trouble or electronic know-how.

Removed the stainless steel framed led display,then removed the flapper assembly part which has two screws. Installed the new assembly . Do your self a favor buy the flapper assembly instead of just the flapper itself. Tried that first,no luck and is a knuckle buster. John H
