Floyd L Healdsburg , CA June 24, 2017 Appliance: Model RP268ABBP Refrigerator was not cooling water in bottom shelf noisy note it was a very hot week here at 104+ degrees After trying all of the resets, I watched a YouTube Video about the evaporator problems that occur on Samsung units of this vintage. They suggested that the fan behind the back panel might be frozen over. Looking closer at mine, that was the problem. My wife and I removed all the food and placed what was still good in an ice Chest with Dry ice. I tried to follow the instructions on the YouTube, but ended up breaking the cover assembly while trying to get to the fan. When I got it out, it was well froze over, the insulation Styrofoam was ruined and the fan was burned out. I was going to see if I could find a another fan motor and just patch up the cover with duct tape because the unit is about 9 years old. But while shopping for a motor on line, I found Appliance Pros, and there it was, an assembly cover with a motor, connectors, chrome ring, insulation for a great price. Less than a motor at our local parts store. Then I chatted with one of their sales reps and she assured me it had everything I needed, and it would arrive here within days. It did, and my dry ice was still keeping the food cold in the 104+ weather. It snapped right back in after a thorough cleaning. I vacuumed out the compressor radiator cleaned up all the crude down below. Took me about 4 hours to do everything. Plugged it back in and 2 hours later, it was ready for service. So quite you can hardly hear it and works like it did when it was new. I think I am going to just shut it down one a year and let it sit for 24 hours to melt out any ice building up in the Evaporator radiator and fan. Sure was glad to be able to fix it. I couldn't really afford to buy another unit right now. Read More... 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Screwdrivers
