I read an article concerning the same problem and ordered the interior lever, but the real issue was that the plastic piece that activated the water flow was broken off the interior of the water dispenser cover assembly. I popped out the dispenser cover (it is on very snugly) and replaced it with a new one (again, it went back on but with some force needed). I only needed a screwdriver to pop the cover and would suggest you use a towel as a buffer to prevent scratching the interior of the refrigerator.

Tool(s) and material(s) 1. two wide flat-head screwdrivers 2. a small clean table cloth (to avoid leaving scratch marks) Steps: 1. place the table cloth along the edge of the cover 2. gently insert one screwdriver under the cover (with table cloth in between the cover and the wall) 3. gently insert the second screwdriver (1/2 inch apart from the first screwdriver) 4. gently pry both screwdrivers until one of the holding brackets on the cover come loose 5. remove the old cover (downward motion) and snap in your new cover

As someone else said, 'easy fix'. Just popped it out with screwdriver and popped the new one in; works perfectly.

We attempted to reassemble the dispenser. At the time we did realize how simple it was to remove the cover. We checked Appliancepartspros.com and found the Water Dispenser Cover Assembly. Once we saw the part and understood how the cover was in place, we used a thin, flat, trowel to gently get under the cover to pry it loose. We then just snapped the new cover in place. A small rubber mallet would be helpful. We ordered the entire assemble in case we broke parts in our attempt to replace. Dispensing water as usual.
