Daniel F Oklahoma City , OK December 23, 2016 The parts that hold the freezer door handle disentegrated The parts ordered were the correct ones as shown on the diagram provided on the website. The ship was quick (although expensive) and about 20 minutes after arrival the new parts were installed and the wife is happy again. 1. remove the top caps covering the brackets. (carefully) pull up on the front of the cover until it clicks and then slide toward the front and they come out. 2. you will need a phillips head screwdriver to remove the white and black brackets. After removing the screws the brackets push back slightly towards the freezer, then lift them out. 3. I used 2 small nails to insert in the hole in the slide that enters the freezer to hold them out towards the freezer while I removed the broken parts. 4. Slide the rod out of the bracket and insert into the new cap handle (s) remove screws from the crossover handle and install through the new cap handles. (be sure to use the proper side cap handle) one screw is thicker than the other, make note of the location when removing and reinstalling. 5. Set the entire crossover handle assembly back in place and reinstall the white and black tabs with the screws as removed earlier. 6. reinstall the covers by pushing small tabs into the slots then pushing down to snap in place. Remove the small nails used to hold slider open, close door and test the operation of the handle assembly. hope this helps Read More... 20 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Martha F Saugus , MA January 08, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF268ABRS/XAA-0000 Broken freezer door handle We had a hard time finding a tutorial that showed how to replace the part of the handle that broke. After several attempts to fix on our own we gave up. A few weeks later a friend came to our house and we were discussing the fix for the handle and She helped me to fix the handle just buy trying a new way to remove the old broken part. It took us several tries but with her help I was able to fix the door handle and remove the broken part. I really wish your site had a tutorial for this particular part DA67-02056A (AP4365989) because it wasn't easy to figure out the repair. Now that I have it done. I'm happy! Unfortunately the rep we spoke to on the phone from your company wasn't much help. Karyn S Marengo , IL December 19, 2017 Someone did not know that the freezer handle had to be pulled up to open drawer. They ripped the screws right thru the cap handle when they tried to use brute force to pull it open. I looked at the blow up drawing to figure out what parts I might need. I then watched a you tube video to see how to take the handle off. I kind of figured out on my own how to remove the ruined cap handle. It took me a few minutes to figure it out and more time to remove both the handle and the broken part. Turns out I did not need the spring nor the shaft cap handle. Very proud of myself. Saved a huge amount of money. Only problem was that I could only put in one screw as the previous force used made one of the holes in the freezer handle to large for the screw that fit the cap handle. Raymond W Walkerton , VA June 25, 2017 Cap handles broke on the freezer door Replaced both cap handles. Pulled up on the front of the cover and the cover came rightr off. After that is was just removing the screws to remove the broken parts. Screw the the parts onto the handle, insert the bars from the original parts, and resinsert into the door. It is a little tricky to get them back in, but not too bad. Then it is just screwing it back in and putting the overs back on.
