This is the ice level sensing arm that detects when the ice bin is full and signals the ice maker to stop producing ice. It pivots up as ice accumulates in the bin, triggering the shut-off mechanism. Replaced the entire ice making unit. It was a very simple project. The original ice maker is held in place by two screws at the front and some tabs in the back. Removing the screws allowed the unit to come free from the tabs and drop down. We simply released the wiring clip, removed the broken unit and reversed the process.
