Replaced fan motor, temperature sensor and defrost thermostat. Note: I had to replace connector on new defrost thermostat. Connector on new part did not fit mating connector in refrigerator.. spliced in old connector for new one. Read more

The blower motor that circulates air through the refrigerator was broken. I had to remove all the shelving and drawers from the refrigerator. Then I had to remove the plastic light cover from the center of the fridge. Then I removed all visible screws to uncover the evaporator/radiator. I then unplugged the light bulb and motor wires. I took all the items out of the refrigerator. Removed the screws that hold the cover over the evaporator motor. Than for three hours used a hair drier to remove ice. The panel was frozen on if you pull on it it will break. Soaked up all the water removed the panel and took the fan blade off. That was difficult because it looks like a regular screw head however, you need to push in that which will cause it to release the blades and than push it onto the new motor. Removed refrigerator panel, disconnected light and fan power. Removed fan assembly and replaced motor, grommets and fan attachment spring. Unit had adhesive on spring to help hold the spring. Chatted with customer service and clarified that spring and fan would easily pull off motor shaft. Adhesive probably was extra measure used during original build of the fridge. Noise was due to fan rubbing on housing. New fan position set to avoid any rubbing. Read more

I bought the defrost-clip (clip-drain-evap), but once I took the refrigerator apart--the large plastic "back" had frozen to the rest and left the insulation in pieces when I tried to pull it apart. I was able to replace the clip-drain-evap piece with little trouble once the ice had melted, but I was unhappy with the looks of the "back". This repair was likely compounded by a second failed component after several unplug attempts. The first failure occurred after the freezer door had been left ajar. The freezer temp wouldn't drop but inside it still felt cold. I did several panel resets and the 'unplug for 12 hours' trick, neither changed indications. • Ice maker won't dispense ice

By process of elimination I concluded that the condenser was working fine since the freezer seemed to work fine. However, there was a noise coming from the condenser fan motor as well. I first emptied out both the refrigerator and freezer. I first wanted to check the evaporator motor and fan to see if that was the problem. I unplugged the refrigerator. I was not able to find the exact part, so I ordered several different parts from various websites. There was one that did fit but the electrical connection was the wrong type. I clipped off the connection from the new motor and spliced on the connection from the old motor. Now it seems to be working like a charm. Read more
