Samsung DA63-01453B Refrigerator Ice Cube Tray OEM Part

My husband took it out and found the only part broken was the ice tray, so I went on line to AppliancePartspros.com and found the part. We had the part in 2 days, and it fit perfect. Had it making ice again in about 15 minutes.

Fifteen year old Samsung fridge ice maker stopped making ice cubes and appeared to be leaking water directly into the ice bin where it would freeze into a sold sheet of ice at the bottom. Some online research indicated that the problem was likely a cracked plastic ice cube tray. There was a video showing how the repair was done on a similar Samsung model. I ordered the replacement ice cube tray from AppliancePartsPros for about $12 plus shipping and was able to remove the ice maker, replace the tray (which was indeed cracked), and re-install the ice maker in less than 30 minutes. This compares with about $300 to have a service call and replace the entire ice maker assembly. Very happy with the AppliancePartsPros web site which made it easy to identify the specific model of ice maker and to order the correct part.

I was sure that it was the ice maker assembly itself and kept putting off the repair because there was always something else to spend $100+ on. Finally got around to ordering the part but asked "Ask the Pro" to help me verify which part I needed. It was determined that more than likely, it was just the ice tray itself (a $5 part). Removed the assembly (two screws), swapped out the trays, reinstalled, and lo and behold, all works well. Do you know how many bags of ice I bought because of a $5 ice tray?
