This is an electromechanical defrost timer that controls the automatic defrost cycle in a refrigerator. It periodically switches the compressor off and activates the defrost heater to melt frost buildup on the evaporator coils. Replace this timer if your refrigerator is not defrosting properly, frost is building up excessively on the back wall of the freezer, or the compressor runs continuously without cycling into defrost mode.

Erratic cooling ice buildup in freezer Donald M. • Stover , MO • March 13, 2015
I replaced the Thermostat and Defrost Timer. It was a fairly easy repair other than removing the old Defrost Timer. The way the manufacturer, in this case, Amana, mounts that unit with "clips" is just poor design and engineering. It is virtually impossible to get the timer out without damaging the mounts. I had to do some creative rework to mount the new timer.
After 2 days, the fridge appears to be working properly with these new parts.
The new parts were shipped Very Fast...APP is...

In the past the temperature would change from one day to the next, remain constant for weeks then start rising again. Would unplug for 5 – 10 min and adjust temp and would work fine. Now Refrigerator compressor will not shut off (has been running for the last 3 days) temps are 26F on freezer side and 43F on food compartment side. Checked evaporator and it has a great deal of frost on it but not frozen. Checked for continuity on the defroster heater and thermostat by going through the...

Replaced the inverter board. Confirmed there was 4-5bdc on the red and white trigger plug on the inverter. It’s a waveform that is there also but having voltage on the red and white wire of the inverter is a good sign the mother board is ok.

Restore reliable operation with this power control board assembly. It regulates and distributes incoming power to the appliance's circuits and components so the unit powers up consistently and runs as designed when the original board has failed.
- Regulates and stabilizes power delivered to control and load circuits
- Switches power to motors, heaters, fans, and other components via onboard relays
- Provides low-voltage supply for control electronics
- Typical failure symptoms: no power, unresponsive controls, intermittent shutdowns, repeated blown fuse, or visible board damage
What's included: One power control board assembly. Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; capacitors can retain a charge—allow time to discharge and use proper precautions
- Handle the board by the edges and use ESD protection to avoid static damage
- Photograph wiring and move connectors one at a time to the new board to maintain orientation
- Inspect wiring, fuses, and downstream components for shorts before restoring power to protect the new board
