Burnt rubber smell at end of cycle from 11 yr old lg wm2277hw front load washer i hand spun inner drum it was rotating in an oblong manner so thought shaft was bent Kirk E. • Eagan , MN • October 22, 2015
Looked online at several websites to see if I could figure out the problem Came across AppliancePartsPros video on replacing bearings. Watched it a couple of times and determined (well, guessed) it was the bearings and/or spider. Followed the video (great job by the way) and disassembled the washer. The spider was cracked on one arm so ordered a new one from this site. I also ordered two new bearings and the bearing seal b/c learned from the web and local appliance store that they go bad in 7+...

Dryer would not turn on Kathie R. • Burlington , WI • January 15, 2016
The dryer is a Kenmore Laundry Center, model 417-99570150. Bought in 1998, so it is an older model. Not wanting to buy the newer ones that are out now. We opted to fix the Kenmore. Just believe the older models are worth fixing, if at all possible.
Frist we had to figure out what parts we would need and if the cost would be worth our time. I went on YouTube: and type in Kenmore dryer not turning on. Watched several videos to narrow down the possible problem.
Next step was to...

Screeching ge profile dryer Larry S. • Savoy , IL • January 16, 2015
Initially I replaced the rear drum bearing assembly. I searched all over for a good how-to video and came across the Appliance Pros tutorial on YouTube. It was by far the easiest to understand with the added bonus that AP had the parts I needed.
I had never done this before, but using the video as my guide I was able to replace the rear bearing assembly in about an hour and a half. It would've taken a little less time if I hadn't had to run to the hardware store for a T25 bit. I also could...

Leaking washer tub Hugh S. • Miami , FL • June 25, 2016
The seal at the bottom of the tub had started to fail. On large loads water would leak so I ordered a new one rubber seal. Getting the trunnion off the transmission shaft was hard as it was calcified and corroded. I used a wire brush to get some of it off and then used a lot of WD-40. The bolt holding the trunnion plate on sheared off when I tried to remove it on one side and the other came out ok (the bolt hole through the trunnion is not threaded so it should slide out once the plate is off...

Loud whirring noise on spin cycle Kenneth S. • Lindenhurst , IL • March 08, 2017
Replaced transmission and support assembly. Hub nut corrode on support, spanner wrench would not loosen. Had to use 1 11/16 deep socket and impact wrench to remove, basket would not com off support even after cleaning out and soaking with penetrant and using automotive air hammer to push out. I had to cut support plate in half with die grinder, cut bearing from shaft and punch out agitator shaft then use die grinder with carbide burr to cut basket shaft in two before basket would come off...

The tub was too low sagging away from the door rim and the lid switch was broken Jeffrey W. • Daufuskie Island , SC • January 12, 2016
I ordered a new lid lock and 4 new tub support rods. The rear tub support rods were more difficult to reach and install (as you can imagine) but I was able to complete the task. The lid lock was much easier to replace, just remove 2 screws.
