I noticed Ice maker Quit for the third time in 15 years so I decided to buy another Ice maker, I installed it and NO ice still?? Thanks to the testimony of others on the site, I knew exactly which parts to order. The triangular holder which keeps the ice storage container was cracked so I replaced it. I also ordered a new Auger Motor Drive Shaft which makes the curvy metal piece in the bin turn. Mine had worn down and would not turn the curvy metal piece anymore. Replacing these pieces worked like a charm. My kids were amazed that ice now comes out of the door after 2 months of having to reach inside. Read more

I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason. Although the problem started off small, it gradually grew much worse, and finally I could see water dripping out of the ice mold and into the bin during the fill cycle. Removed the old tube. You will need this part - note that it might look different from what you have because they redesigned the part to not have a sharp curve at the bottom part where it plugs into the valve. You will also need a 5/8" stainless steel hose clamp (that will go down to 1/4") to clamp the top part of the hose that feeds into the icemaker (this replaces the factory clamp that is effectively throw-away). I went to appliancepartspros.com and described the symptoms which led to replacing the capacitor. The part arrived the next day!!! Unfortunately the clicking and warmness remained. I went to the online chat and Mandie recommended the relay which was next in the chain before the dreaded compressor. Once again the part arrived the next morning! Replaced water reservoir that had become contaminated with ??? Also had to replace the water filter, because the water contaminated it also. Cost was about $150, for two filters and the reservoir. The first filter was replaced because I did not know the reservoir was contaminated, and no water was coming out of the dispenser. • Ice maker won't dispense ice

I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. Well, I took it out (it slides out) to get a good look at it,so i could ref pictures on your site..naturally I had serial/model of refrig,and thats mandatory to get the right part. It came in 2 days,,and being just the bucket, it took only a few minutes to transfer the auger assembly/cube/crusher.... into the new one, 6 screws total..Your site has excellent vids on DIY.......I HIGHLY reccomend.
