Washer stops mid-cycle or won't advance to rinse/spin? This timer controls cycle progression. Moderate DIY repair—requires control panel removal.
First the timer did not move into the rinse and spin cycle. I would move the dial manually to the rinse and spin and nothing happen. But if I press down on the lid switch then it would work. Replaced the lid switch and the timer and now the washer works. I had printed out the instructions for replacing the parts, which were easy to do. Also received parts in two days. Read more

Fixing the problem was quite simple. First, I removed the lid assembly (thanks to the diagrams supplied by AppliancePartsPros.com!). Getting the back two screws out was very difficult because I couldn't see them from the front and I could not move the unit out of the enclosed space. I changed the brake shoes and the clutch assembly which also comes with the driver cam. I also changed the metal brake operating cam.
