Replacement drum support roller for dryers. Mounts on the drum frame to support and guide the drum as it rotates. Replace if cracked, worn, or damaged.
I watched videos on the disassembly of my dryer model, and got the model number hiding on the upper dryer door jamb. After calling AppliancePartsPros.com for help, then ordered parts with the help of APP. It took almost a full day to disassemble the dryer I have, as it is a little more complicated than some models, and I went very slowly on purpose to not lose screws, or break plastic parts. Getting the wiring harness apart was the hardest thing to do, as the screwdriver shown in the video... Read more
Dryer won't start or stops mid-cycle? A worn drive motor is often the cause. This motor turns the drum and circulates air. Moderate DIY repair.
My 12 year old Kenmore dryer problem started about 3 years ago with the motor just stopping. My thing was: I would turn it off and turn the drum by hand about halfway around and it would work again. Last month, my wife said it stopped again and its making a loud noise, but when I did "my thing" it still made a loud squealing noise (like I was killing a mouse). I made time to work on it the next day, I took it apart, using the video instructions from AppliancePartsPros, I removed the top,... Read more
Washer won't start or stops mid-cycle? A faulty lid lock assembly prevents operation. Moderately difficult DIY repair—installation video available.
The part is so new no video so I went onto a similar part and watched video that got me about 80%. Then, called and customer service sent me a service Manual but this still was not specific so I broke the old to get it out and in the process figured out how to do it correctly. So I installed the last bit of it which was the bezel through the machine top by myself correctly. So you take the old one out by pushing out to the right from the bottom side using a screw driver for leverage. It will... Read more
Seals the rear drum edge to contain hot air and improve drying efficiency. Replace if worn, torn, or causing noise. Confirm fit with your model number.
Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. I bought an ignitor at a local store as there was a national holiday the next day and I did not want the dryer inoperative waiting several days for shipping. I can say AppliancePartsPros is MUCH cheaper for the identical Whirlpool genuine part. While changing the ignitor, I noticed there was an excessive amount of lint in the dryer, which was caused by worn drum seals. I ordered... Read more
Dryer shuts off before clothes are dry? The moisture sensor bar detects dryness levels. Easy 10-30 minute DIY fix with video guide included.
I am not an electrician, just a housewife with limited funds and a desire to DIY. I used the provided videos for knowing how to replace everything except the heating element which I just guessed based on other reviews and seeing how the other parts worked. Our dryer is 11 years old Whirlpool Gold HE and I have only ever cleaned the lint tray. My husband replaced the belt about five years ago and he did clean out the inside of the dryer. Started by ordering a thermal fuse because it was... Read more

I used Fixya as an initial source describing my problem. I got two responses which were very helpful. One that the "coils" were probably the problem. Two, that the problem could be the thermostat or a thermistor in the dryer. I verified that AC was coming from the timing control, that both the two terminal and three terminal coils, the igniter and shut off thermostat all had continuity. I then applied AC directly to the coils: the two terminal coil ""clanked" and I interpreted that as the coil... Read more
Replacement idler pulley for dryer drum belt systems. Maintains proper belt tension. Replace if pulley is cracked, worn, or bearings are damaged.
It was the day of my birthday June 6th when my wife came to me to tell me that the dryer was not working. Immediately I started to look for a new dryer from Best Buy and the rest. Then I said It would be better if I waited for 4th of July at which time I could find a better deal. This is when I decided to take it apart to see what was wrong. Initially, I thought of the belt that could be broken and I rotated the drum by hand and I heard a noise of the belt at times falling on the drum. I was... Read more

Maytag Gas Dryer Model: MGDE300VW1 I had previous experience with repairing my dryers, but this was a first for this model. Instructional videos very helpful. Ordered necessary parts and they were delivered with-in two days. Wow! Squeak found to be coming from idler pulley roller which no longer turned freely . The four other cabinet rollers had signs of wear. Dryer belt had frayed edges and a couple of burn spots in the belt from the motor turning before the drum did. Cleaned up all shafts... Read more

I did a little research and found out that the dryer drum rollers needed to be replaced. I decided that since I would be replacing the 4 drum rollers that I should replace the belt and the belt drive pulley. This was a simple project thanks to YouTube. I used one of appliancepartspor videos to st me through the repair. Now I have a dryer that does not squeal like a pig! Read more

Dryer making rattling noise or not heating properly? A cracked blower wheel disrupts airflow. Moderate DIY repair—requires panel removal and wrench work.
I wanted to avoid pulling the drum. Luckily, my blower was easily accessed by pulling the front bottom panel. A couple of sheet metal screws were all I needed to remove the fan housing cover. I knew the fan was on reverse threads, i.e. righty-untighty. As it spins it tightens so no need for a retaining nut. I took off a screw holding on the exhaust tube and wiggled it out. I found the broken teeth inside. With the tube out of the way I was able to slide a crescent wrench in back and place... Read more

After reading the reviews of others, I ordered and replaced the heating element, thermostat, cut-off & the moisture sensor bars. It was a success! The element was definitely bad on one end, the wire was burnt in two pieces. Now it doesn't take 3 hours to dry a load! Well worth the money I spent. Easy to fix & do it yourself. I watched the video before buying the parts just to make sure that it was something I wanted to tackle. Very easy with the video. Great job Appliance Pro's! Read more
