Dale M Peshtigo , WI January 02, 2018 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer MGDE300VW1 Dryer squealed when first started & my wife noticed a piece of clothing getting caught in front seal Maytag Gas Dryer Model: MGDE300VW1 I had previous experience with repairing my dryers, but this was a first for this model. Instructional videos very helpful. Ordered necessary parts and they were delivered with-in two days. Wow! Squeak found to be coming from idler pulley roller which no longer turned freely . The four other cabinet rollers had signs of wear. Dryer belt had frayed edges and a couple of burn spots in the belt from the motor turning before the drum did. Cleaned up all shafts with a little lacquer thinner and a rag. Prior to re-installing, I buffed the axle shafts with fine 800 emery cloth and gave them a coat of Teflon lubricant which I wiped off before installing the rollers. When installing the back triangle clip I found putting a small piece of duct tape over the other groove on the tip of the shaft prevented the clip from unnecessarily engaging in this groove. Rubber residue on the drum roller track and the belt grip area cleaned up easily with lacquer thinner. The dryer kit had everything needed. Front drum seal was visibly worn. The old seal removed rather easy and cleanly. On areas where there was thick glue I scrapped them lightly with a paint scrapper. The whole rim was then lightly sanded with 100 grit sand paper to remove all the old fibers and wiped clean with lacquer thinner. The video on how to install the seal was most helpful. The seal was then stretched slightly into place and secured with clothes pins. I gave the seal time to relax while I took a dinner break. The seal was then glued as demonstrated in the video and left dry over night. On the cabinet sides of the drum area I found glass stove top cleaner & polish made quick work of cleaning up dirt and residue from the seal left in the seal's track. Again, the seal kit was a complete kit with an ample supply of adhesive. Total repair time was several hours due to extra cleaning of lint in the cabinet's interior, vent pipe assembly, motor and blower wheel. While inside I noticed a faint natural gas leak from valve assembly. Part is now ordered, but dryer was re-assembled for use till then. Overall the dryer sounds new again.... whisper quiet. Not only did I save $$ with the repair, but I know the repair was done right. Brian C Lake Jackson , TX April 25, 2020 Appliance: Kenmore Dryer 11077087600 Belt squeaking loudly Appliance info: Kenmore Elite Oasis Gas Dryer model 110.7708*. Be sure to click on "Dryer Parts" in the website before searching with the model info. After removing the dot from the model the website found the dryer model. Preview the repair video a couple of times before diving into your dryer. This will save you lots of time. It took 5 minutes to disassemble the dryer down to the point to replace the rollers, belt, and idler pulley. Flat blade to unlock upper tongs to lift the lid. A nut driver to remove the front face place with door still attached. Loosen the belt and lift out the tub. Took longer to clean the lint from the unit than it did to install the new parts and get ready to replace the seals on the drum. Watch the video before attempting to replace the seals. Technique will make things a lot easier. Used a brass wire wheel to clean the seal contact line after removing the old seal. Some stretching on the new seal and lots of clothe pins to hold the seal in place while applying adhesive. Total time to replace both seals took about 3 hours (second seal half the time of the first seal). Had to put a new gasket seal on the blower inlet by the screen. Old seal was allowing leaks to enter and prevent good heating in the drum. Finally got the belt around the drum and reassembled. Belt install is the tricky part. After than no time at all to get the dryer back in service. I spent 6 hours replacing the rollers, belt, drum seals, inlet port gasket, cleaning the dryer, and cleaning where the dryer was operating. But I am a stickler about getting things "like new" clean. And the seal change could have gone faster but I wanted to be sure the adhesive was really dried. Overall, a very easy task. Stephen P Columbia , TN December 05, 2014 There was a loud thumping noise while running Although only one drum support roller was worn I replaced all four. The front felt seal was torn in a couple spots so while I had drum out I replaced that also. The videos on the web site were very helpful. Ellen S Shoreline , WA February 16, 2015 The felt strip came off the rear of the dryer drum I called several appliance repair companies to come replace the felt on the drum of my dryer. One didn't work on Whirlpool dryers, one would charge a steep price, and the third suggested I order the part here and do it myself. Not being a handy person I was a bit intimidated, but the guy who did the video tutorial was very helpful. I needed help to lift the dryer off the washer, but other than that I did it all myself. It took a long time because I wanted to follow the directions exactly and occasionally the parts didn't come off as smoothly as they were supposed to. Plus you have to allow the adhesive to dry for an hour before putting it back together. Reassembly was much quicker. The 24 hour wait to use the dryer was frustrating after a week with no clean laundry, but I ran several loads yesterday and it worked perfectly. Plus I had the satisfaction of saving money and doing the work myself! Thanks for the part and the tutorial video!
