I unplugged the fridge and took all the food and shelving out of the freezer and then proceeded to take off the bottom sliding drawer rack on both sides off (4 Phillips head screws). I have a 2015 GE GTE18IHCRSS and had to drop the control housing (#432 in the diagram) to attach the wire/plug assembly to the switch.
